Hello everyone. I'm an October 5th 2015 applicant. I just received my AOR last week and this morning I was surprised by an email from CIC asking me to do a medical examination within 30 days. I'm still waiting for my OWP (I submitted together with the sponsorship application). Is this weird? or has it happen to anyone? I booked everything already but im just confused why they want it so early. Could it be why I haven't received my OWP after 5 months of waiting? Any advice?

I'm an October 9th applicant and have same situation with you except that I did medical examination in front. I got AOR and am still waiting for OWP. So I don't think medical examination affects on OWP process. Do you call Call Center and do you hear from them that your OWP is on system and being progressed ?

Hi Ponga and Sophie. I am having a hard time deciding whether I should mail in my PCC now or wait for CIC to request them. I filed my application in March 2015 w/out my PCC as they would take longer to come. On one hand, I don't want to lose the original copies by mailing them without CIC's request and on the other hand, I want to be pro-active and have them review a complete file instead of wasting time by having them request them. So confused, Please help! ???

If you already know your UCI and file number, than there shouldn't be a problem in sending the PCC before CIC requests it. Just make sure to include a cover letter with all of your personal information. Better provide all of these (for both you and your sponsor) :

* Surname (last name) - Exactly as it appears on the passport or identity document;
* Given name(s) (first name) - Exactly as it appears on the passport or identity document;
* Date of birth (YYYY-MM-DD);
* Country of birth;
* Complete address (including the postal code). If the residential address is different from the mailing address, please provide both addresses;
* Telephone number. If you have more than one contact number, please provide them all;
* Unique Client Identifier (UCI) number / Client ID number;
* File number;
* Type of application (Permanent Residence from within Canada: Spouse or common-law partner in Canada class);
* Approximate date that the application was submitted.

Update:

I applied on 30 July, 2015. Then the timeline was normal. Got AOR three months later, and OWP four months later.
Today I, the main applicant, received an email says:

"This confirms that your application for Permanent Residence under the Spouse or common-law partner in Canada class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 30/07/2015."

This seems an AOR for the applicant , after another four months since the sponsor got file number. Not sure what does this mean.... maybe means nothing?

I submitted my file (PR and OWP) last December and I am just wondering if where should I wait for my OWP to be mailed out? to my new address or in the old one?

I am also Oct 5th applicant and got AOR March 8th too but I haven't heard anything about the medical examination. It shouldn't have anything to do with OWP, not that I know of. I'm going to call CIC tomorrow since many applicants after us have got their OWPs already and it just seems like somehow we got skipped which is totally unfair.. Let me know if you hear anything about your application, I'm assuming we will be getting OWPs the same time!

No AIP or DM yet but I'm watching my email like a hawk today

Congrats!!! That is so good!! I hope they keep up the speed. We applied July 2015.

So my wife has gotten SA, dated March 17. However I, the applicant, did not receive AIP or DM at the same time. Is that reason for concern? I'm excited and scared something is wrong at the same time

Haven't been through it but I have looked at the spreadsheet and I wouldn't worry if I were you. Some people take a few weeks to get AIP/DM after SA.

Does anybody know how Montreal office contacts people for the finalization and how long that usually takes after DM for this contact as well as how long it usually takes before the interview is planned?
