would anybody, please, confirm that we should send an updated form IMM5406 to inform CIC of the birth of our baby. I have my landing interview appointment for next week, and I gave birth just 6 days ago, we are advised to inform CiC before the interview. What is the best way to inform them? Thanks

The fastest would be to scan the birth certificate and upload it here:

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I mentioned a few days ago in the post that I got my Sponsorship Approval this Tuesday (May 26). We still hadn't heard anything yet in regards to my wife's PR claim so we checked her application status online just a few minutes ago. To my surprise there were 3 more updates (2-4);

"Permanent Residence
1.We received your application for permanent residence on January 31, 2014.

2.We started processing your application on May 26, 2015.

3.Medical results have been received.

4.A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision."

At this point I feel like we will be getting a letter next week saying she has been accepted! It also makes me think that they aren't going to make us provide more info or do an interview either due to the fact a decision has already been made. Does that sound about right or am I just being overly optimistic?

Thanks,

I am sure everyone would love this.

I'd love to pay double to escape the circus. Heck, I'd pay double *right now*, even after waiting 14 months, just to get me to the end of stage 1.

Honestly if the problem is seriously that they don't have the resources to do this all, it'd be easily solved by upping the fees.

Clearly this is an issue of there being a hard limit to the number of acceptances per month. Well, either that or just general incompetency.

Actually scratch all that, I'm pretty sure it's all about them being generally bad at what they do.
If you send your medical and background checks with you application, you have a good chance of getting AIP and DM at the same time. So you should be done in 2 months at the most. Hang in there! It will go by fast.

Hi everyone, I never posted but I've always been following. You all give me hope!!
App filed: January 24, 2014
AOR received: May 08, 2014

I sent an inland app to sponsor my husband without any OWP app, medical check or background check. On May 27th, I got an email from them requesting a medical check. We did it on May 28th. We don't seem to have received AIP. It just said that we have reached the stage where medical checks are needed in the email. I've also sent the OWP app a few months ago. And, he's out of status. My question is, what is our situation now, and what should I expect next and in how long?

Thanks :)

What did you exactly received? Was it one of these?

After CIC receive your medical it usually takes a few weeks or a few months to get DM.
If you received SA, than now your husband is eligible to apply for work permit, but it's still unsure that CIC will approve the work permit you sent months ago.

Both should be fine. And yeah, a cover letter with full name, DOB, UCI, file number.

No, this is how the letter started:
"These medical instructions are being issued since your application has been processed to the stage where medical examination results are now required. Please read these instructions carefully."
and then there were instructions, that's it
