Hey there,

I seem to be in the exact same situation as you: I live in Quebec also, sent application to Vegreville on 14th Jan 2014, received by them 17th Jan (1 day after you). I haven't received AOR anything else yet. Keep me posted by DM if you hear anything, i'll do the same.

Are you based in Montreal?

cheers
Tim

Moi aussi!..

Sent app at the end of Jan & no news. Unlikely we'll hear anything before the summer & therefore CSQ etc will need to be done later than anticipated.

It's done. Welcome here!

Thank you Sophieee. I am happy to be here but reading the info provided by members I became really negative. I sponsored my previous wife in 2002 and everything was easy and pretty fast. Now it's really slow and complicated.

Hello everyone! Im new to this forum and forums in general. ::)

I'm looking for someone who experienced this or can shed some light.

I am an American citizen who married a Canadian citizen in canada. We applied for the inland sponsorship in September 2013 but still hasn't heard anything from them. At the time we didn't expect it to take this long. So all I have is my visitor extension which expires in October 2014 but nothing from CIC.

We need to travel back to New York for about two weeks and I wanted to know if anyone has done this because I am afraid I would be denied entry back into canada.

I know that inland applicants are not advised to travel, but according to the CIC website, you can go on a vacay but there is no "guarantee" you will be granted entry again. I am abiding all guidelines as a sponsored spouse. So I am not working, going to school, committing crimes, etc.

I know it's a huge risk, but I'd like some reassurance from your personal experience if you don't mind sharing.

Have you ever traveled before getting your PR? If so, what was the process like coming back into canada?

Thanks for your help in advance!

-Melissa

Already responded to the same question in your other thread.

What is this spreadsheet for?

We can see each other's timeline, so we can figure out approx when can we expect some change in our status. Right now the only thing we can learn from the sheet, that they finishing the cases before 2013 July 8 in Vegreville, and they haven't really started to work on the others in Mississauga. No one got AOR since Februar 4th. But at least we know, that (hopefully) nothing wrong with our application, everybody is waiting now.

As for the border crossing, it's completley up to that single agent you meeting when coming back, you can't see beforehand who will you meet and how will she/he decide.

They always say that "there is no guarantee that you can re-enter Canada", even if you have a Visa or whatever. I've entered Canada many times with a valid work permit, a valid study permit, and a Visa when I've travelled outside the US. I haven't had any problems coming in. It has nothing to do with your PR application; if the officer at the border feels like you have everything in order to be allowed into Canada, you will be let in.

My spousal sponsorship application was received january 14 and the OWP application on january 30, still no news.

Currently they are posting 9 months for Stage 1 Inland, so you shouldn't expect to hear anything until September, 2014.

Hello everyone! I am new to this forum
I'm looking for someone who can suggest me on this....

I am a Canadian PR with CSQ moved to Montreal (Quebec) in feb 2014.

Now I want to bring my family (Wife and Kid) here to Montreal.

Is it better to apply PR from India or bring them here on a business visa and apply for a PR in Canada?

If I apply PR for them here in Canada, can they stay with me in Canada till the application is processed.

Both my Wife and Kid name are entered in my COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence).

Thanking you all in advance for your suggestions.

How can I join this spreadsheet and have access to it?

I submitted my application August 21, 2013 and it was received September 8, 2013. I haven't received anything from CIC other than my application being moved to Mississauga.

I read that some people received a notice with a date when their application being processed, but I was not notified.

Please let me know if you need additional information.

Thanks so much!

I can add you to the spreadsheet if you want, but I think you are a better fit with the 2013 applicants. Here are their spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AlF5vPwhP68bdENmTzlDSmpZTy1TRWdwamtLeURmZXc#gid=0
And you need to send a personal message to guri to be added:

Most of the sponsors get an email, an acknowledgement of receipt (AOR), but not always, and it's often goes to the spam folder.

This assumes that they have to be in India for you to sponsor them Outland (they don't). They MUST be in Canada for you to sponsor them inland (in Canada and living with you). They can be living anywhere with the file being processed through New Delhi.

The challenge is usually getting the visa for them to come visit.

Technically, they must have status of some sort to come to Canada before they are permanent residents. I'd suggest trying to get the visa for them to come to Canada and also start preparing the Outland application. If they get the visa to come to Canada, the application will be processed in India (which does mean they have to get their passports back to India for processing as CIC will not mail passports outside India) even though they are in Canada. This ultimately will be the fastest way for them to obtain PR.

Good - that means you won't have any major issues, since they've previously been examined. In addition, they are likely to be on the short end of processing (ND posts that 20% of applications are completed in 5 months and 50% are completed in 7 months). This is because the time-consuming part of processing has already been done and thus just needs to be updated (so it is current).

Put the present date or fill it out few days before you send your application. Or the day you will send your application :-)
