Hello.

I sent the permanent residence and work permit application together in the end of August. Does anyone know if the work permit application will be processed after the assessment of sponsor or is there a possibility that it will happen before? And what may be the average processing times for processing the work permit application? I have checked the CIC homepage, but can find the processing times about permanent residence only.

I'd be very grateful for some advise.
Owp is processed only AFTER aip which is the first stage (approval of sponsor) , currently takes 14 months to process .

Hi sophieee,

Can you make a change to the excel sheet? my docs was sent back to me sept because of old form. I sent them to cic on sep.17th .I received a new AOR on oct 28th with a new FN. It says that "my This confirms that your application for Permanent Residence under the Spouse or common-law partner in Canada class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2014/09/18. "

Thank you!

I'm sorry that your file was sent back. Wish you a fast process!

Hi serida.
Which of the forms was old?

Hi! I just want to ask something. I applied for visit permit so I can stay here in Canada while gathering some documents and requirements for spouse sponsorship. My question is even if I have a visitor permit I can't go anywhere outside Canada while my sponsorship is on process? Even just for vacation to US for 5 days or so?

The visitor visa has something at the bottom like "'Does not authorize re-entry", so the risk is the same, I wouldn't take my chances because of a 5 days vacation.

After seeing some actual progress over the last two weeks I was excited to see the movement continue.

Of course, not.

How can we remain hopeful with steadily increasing processing times?
October was the only month we saw any progress, and even then we only got 17 days processed for the entire month.

Personally, I would hold up hope that what we have seen is them just getting going again. CIC is like a big huge wheel, takes awhile to get turning but once it does.....*hopefully*

They seem to really just be starting up with their processing again recently, so hopefully once they get into it again it will pick up speed and keep moving that way! *fingers crossed*

AOR's are coming out!

Finally got AOR today, it was sent to sponsors email!

For all those waiting, there is still hope, don't worry!

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Congrats

Can anyone who got their AOR in August check their application status online yet? I've tried repeatedly with my file number and my UCI. I'm thinking maybe I need to call and ask for my sponsor's UCI. I never received his number with my AOR as it was only sent to me.

Keep your heads up!

I did the math, the average number of days for the "Processing Application Received" date moves by 1 day every 6.5 calendar days. Given that rate, my application will be looked at in approximately 4.5 years. The rate at which applications are being processed this year is abysmal. That's not based on a few months, but on 10 consecutive months.

Sort it out CIC

Your math is wrong. And dramatic.

Yes, I can check my status online since the day I got my AOR using the Application Number. I received it on August 6 and they sent it to my email only.

Hopefully you will be able to check yours soon! ;)
