Congrats! I don't think anyone should see it as unfair, it was a special case, period. It's not like we have a competition over here, if anything we all just went 1 application behind, that's nothing at all if they just start processing applications as they should

Is this an AOR?

It was an E-Mail dated for sept.8 saying "Dear *NAME*, This confirms that your application for permanent residence under family class has been received by citizenship and immigration Canada on 2014/8/29. You will receive further corr4espondence once your application is under review" blah blah blah..

It also has an application number at the top.

How many days before do we need to extend the visitor visa. our PR application is under process got AOR so for.
Suggest.
Would there be any issues applying for extension if applicable with inland PR application in process.

Should we apply online or paper.

pls advice

dont you get implied status when you submit your inland application?

I don't think so, bored_waiting, unless you also submit an OWP along with it, but even that is being questioned. I think you need to apply to extend your visa at least 30 days before your current one expires.

Also, it is faster to do it online, and I don't think you should have any issues doing so while your Inland Sponsorship application is processing. :)

That is what i found on CIC website but i am still looking for the implied status because i read it before that you are considered implied status while you wait for a final decision.

Maintaining legal status

Spouses and common‑law partners of Canadian citizens and permanent residents in Canada who wish to apply for permanent resident status are no longer required to have legal immigration status provided that they have an eligible sponsor.

No. This only means that you no longer need to have legal status to APPLY (it was a requirement for Inland applications prior to Feb 2005).

If you read the next part after what you quoted, you will see that it says something like "Persons without legal status can still be removed from Canada at any time".

Submitting an Inland application does NOT give a person implied status.

CIC advise you to apply 30 prior your current one expires, but it's enough if they receive your application the day before the previous expires. Online application is faster, but if you don't need the visitor visa for anything, than the slowness of the paper application could be better, you will get implied status for a longer time, smaller the risk that you will have to apply again.

Submitting an OWP with the application would only give "implied status" to those that have legal status when they submitted the application. The "implied status" would kick in once the legal visa status expires.

The OWP submittal would not given an "out of status" any "implied status" because there was no status to begin with.

Also keep in mind, if you are on a study visa, you should not submit a OWP with the application as once you get OWP status, you can no longer continue your studies. You must quit. You should only submit your study visa extension if you want to continue your studies under "implied status".
