If you don't have any serious problem (like request for an interview) it is advised to order electronic notes. I believe that was what your received last time and people usually ask for. If you order the physical file, they make a copy of everything, but some says that this can delay the processing of your application, but surely is a pain in the officer's rear end.
Thanks Sophiee.

Well I am concerned, because we have a bit of a complicated situation.

On our last GCMS notes there was an email from Etobicoke (since my husband has a request for information that we have sent into them in regards to his record in the US, as it doesn’t have an equivalent under Canadian Law), and the Etobicoke officer was asking Mississauga if they are going to transfer our file to Etobicoke or if Etobicoke should just forward Mississauga all our info and they will continue to process the full thing in Mississauga. That email was from March, and there was no reply as of June.

I’m not concerned about the validity of our relationship being questioned, but just the technicalities like mentioned above.

Then again, these officers are a pain in OUR behind…lol. But I don’t want to slow down our processing time any…but I truly hope to see all the notes…..

But seems electronic will be quicker….hmmm…..not sure now which to pick….

If I were you I would wait till the processing time reach your date and if you don't get AIP when you should, then I would order physical notes, but not before.

It's free under the Privacy Act.

If you make a request under the Access to Information Act, that's $5. But if you ask information about your own application, than you can make it under the Privacy Act, and that's free.

Isn't one quicker than the other though?

In Quebec, when you get AIP, you can apply for RAMQ but you need to wait for 3 months. During this 3 months, u need to pay the insurance by yourself except 3 special cases (pregnancy is one of the cases). But for sure you don't need to be PR to get it. Only AIP is enough and when you get PR, you need to change your RAMQ card. My wife did it already and she has been covered from her pregnancy to delivery our baby. hope that will be clear and help :)
I went RAMQ try to apply health care card .they rejected me even I got DM. So maybe not Ll the officer are same

No, it's the same thing, but you can't request under the Privacy Act if you are looking for information about someone else's application.

Does anyone know how you can go about logging in to get your receipts. I want receipts for PR and OWP

I used go cic.gc .ca

then enter my email and a password... now its saying GC key required or soothing.. did they change this? or am i on crack

Ahhh...ok...so since I am the Sponsor, not the Applicant, my husband would have to request, and he couldn't do so because he is not the Canadian Citizen...I am.

"Who can make a request under the Privacy Act?
Canadian citizens, permanent residents and any individual present in Canada can make a request under the Privacy Act."

As long as the applicant, your husband, is here in Canada, he can request his notes under the Privacy Act.
