The OP may get a new 6 month visit, but that (even from a visa exempt country) is never guaranteed.

And, how would whatever visitor stay she is allowed, convert back to implied status? The OWP that gave her the current implied status doesn't allow a second implied status...does it?

It is true that she MAY get 6 month visit and it is never guaranteed. However she is from the US, i'm assuming she is, and the chances of getting denied is rather low especially if her husband accompanies her back to Canada. She seems to be taking the bullet regardless so might as well give her a sense of calm about it. Last thing she wants is worrying about her re-entry during the wedding celebration.

It is a good point regarding "implied status" you made. I can be wrong in my interpretation here. Since her OWP is still in process, wouldn't in theory still applies to her new visa status once that runs out?

I think the implied status would no longer be the case. If she re-enters Canada and has a valid visitor status [again], there is no implied status. She has real status.

I'm from Japan but my brother is having a wedding in Hawaii. Thank you for the consideration. I started to get worried nonetheless and all I want to believe is I will be okay. I just want to be there for my brother and my family since I don't know when I could see them next.

Yes. I think that person had some sort of issue with CBSA so it was a special case...

I know this is far-fetched, but my hope is that they're keeping it at July 30th this long, and then next update it will be up to the end of August! That would be amazing...highly unlikely, but amazing.

I think, it's time for those that pray(even those that don't) to pray seriously(fast if possible) for Divine Intervention. Some of us are caught between a rock and a hard place, and it doesn't get better each day that passes. Things should not continue this way, this is the time to get God involved!!!

I'm sorry but did you just say " this is the time that God should get involved"? Awwe God should be involved in any ways of our lives all the time not just because we need god this but we need him all the time. But anyways, I feel so depressed and I know all of us are. The think is we really don't have any idea what's going on. Does anyone know the email of Canada Premier Stephen Harper?

I would like to clarify my wife situation. Today her work permit expired. Since August 2013 she don't have work as she was pregnant and gave birtg last January 2014. Is she under the implied status then?thank you

It depends on the type of work permit and if the application was put in before the expiration date.
