I put in my sponsorship package along with OWP in April 2013. I was getting quite excited as it looks like two weeks before they hit it BUT I called today and the waiting period of 10 months applies from when they open it. She explained that the ones they are working on now (march 2013) will be a max of 10 months before stage 1 is complete. I am so frustrated, I have been watching it, thinking the updated dates are when it is finalised, thinking I would have OWP soon.....was she correct? Do the last 10 months account for nothing as far as waiting time goes....do I still have to wait another 10 months and then 8 more for stage 2??? My wife is Canadian, married for 6 years, 3 kids that are Canadian....so frustrating

It takes along time. I am Canadian and applied to sponsor in September of 2012 and they only started working on my file at the end of feb 2013 ( 5 months ) and was approved to be the sponsor feb 2013. My spouse who I have been with for 3 years is still waiting so the wait times is just an average. I think we should hear soon thou. But I only mention that because everyone's case is different.
Just need to be patient. Nothing we can do. In your case and everyone's I hope you all don't have to wait as long as I have.

HI Everyone,
Now I have finally figured out where to post a new questi. I am a sponsor and I had received the AOR in my email. My application was received on june 3rd of last year. i dont know when I will get my AIP. My question is that, where do I receive AIP? Are they going to send it in same email or my wifes? coz my wife's email could not be reactivated. If someone can advise me on that I would appreciate it. Thank you so much in advance

I am sure you will hear something soon. The waiting months start from when they RECEIVE not OPEN your application.
Have a look at the spreadsheet. A lot of April applicants received good news in the past few weeks.

My application was received by CPC-V on April 2nd 2013! I haven't heard anything either. I called them today and the agent told me they are working on it right now. Most April applicants in this forum got AIP and some DM too (along with OWP).

As soon as you get your AIP they will issue you an OWP. It's very frustrating, I know but I'm pretty sure we will hear the good news soon.

If you didn't submit a complete package, they will give you instructions when you receive AIP.. The page says "8 months" (2nd stage) but I know people here who have gotten DM in a matter of a couple months (even earlier).

I have booked medicals for Feb 5 but its really expensive, 300CAD. I may change it if I see a cheaper one here in Calgary. Now I am officially job hunting...lol :D I wish everyone here good luck and favor with all applications. Just keep believing. Dats Key

Still no OWP. It's been nearly three weeks :(

What Seangis said is troubling.
I believe that its 10 months from when they receive it...not when they open it.

If it WAS 10 months from when they open it, then stage one would take 1.5 years!!

If you look at the spreadsheet, you can see that people who applied in March 2013 are getting AIP (and in some cases AIP+DM) by now.

Hello Everyone,
Please is it possible to get Alberta health using OWP+AIP?

Also, can I apply for TRV? If Yes how?

Many thanks

Technically, they open it straight away when they receive it to make sure that it is a complete application and that everything was done correctly. If there was an issue with missing documentation or incorrect paperwork, they would send it back. It's 10 months from when they receive it in the mail. In my case, it was less than 10 months from April 2, 2013 (when CIC received the application) when I received first stage approval.

OWP usually comes soon after (less than 8 months in most cases) if not right away, if you send a complete package (medicals, police check).

ALSO, question - hubby didn't send fingerprints. Is he going to need to send them? This is a really confusing portion of the application as I believe that some people need to send them and others don't. Any feedback on this? Hubby is from Turkey, by the way if that makes a difference.

Hi guys,
I went to pick up my mail today at the post office (general delivery). and there was a letter from CIC

it is my appointment for my landing interview at Etobicoke on Feb 12th….
The letter is dated January 21st I got DM January 9th so it has been pretty fast.

Can't wait I am so excited.

Guri could you update my details on the spreadsheet.

Thank you.
