You could contact your consulate and inform them of the situation. Perhaps they can put a 'rush' onto your passport renewal or even give you back your old one before the new one is completed ...

You won't know the answer until you ask the question.
Thanks Allura71 for the advice

I received my DM roughly in mid November 2013. I would say is took about 2 months from DM to the interview date. Let's say after I receive my CoPR in the interview, am I considered as landed?
Yes, once you have your interview and receive your COPR, you are a landed Permanent Resident. Congratulations! There are a few loose ends to be tied up, but you're done with the process. You'll receive your PR card, probably between 2-3 months from now. You also need to go to a Service Canada location for your SIN card (experiences have varied as to whether or not your need your PR card before you can get your SIN; I was able to get my SIN card in Québec without a PR card, using just my passport and COPR, but others have had trouble and had to wait for their PR cards). You also need to figure out what to do to register for your health card (processes depend on which province you're in).

You are advised to wait for your PR card before traveling commercially (by bus, airplane, train). Some from visa-exempt countries have traveled after landing without their PR cards without difficulty (I visited the US before I got my PR card), but there is always a risk the airline could deny you boarding, and you'd have no choice but to travel to the nearest Canadian (embassy? Consulate?) where you can obtain a travel document. Your COPR is sufficient for travel to the US by private automobile.

Sweden is visa-exempt, right? Visa-exempt applicants are at *less* risk than those who require a visa, but the risk for being denied entry to Canada still exists.

You are "advised" not to travel throughout the duration of your inland application. You can travel, but if you are denied entry to Canada on the way back, your application is considered abandoned, and you have to start all over again. You're not even supposed to travel (commercially) without your PR card, though a lot of visa-exempt PRs seem to have traveled after landing as a PR but before receiving their cards without trouble (I just made a trip to the US between landing and PR card receipt and had no trouble re-entering Canada).

Personally, I wouldn't risk it, though it seems there have been a good number of visa-exempt applicants who have traveled during the process without trouble. I'm just too risk adverse. The process was too hard on me. I'd have lost all hope if I'd have had to start all over at some point.

Hello,

Does anyone make an ATIP request on or about November 20, 2013?

I had submitted a request under the Privacy Act but only received a temporary tracking number.

The email sent by atip department to me indicates that If your request is complete, it will be processed within 30 calendar days from the date of receipt, unless an extension is required.
However, I have not received any information regarding my request.

I also sent an email to the CIC's ATIP Division and explained the situation on January 8, 2014. They has not sent any reply.

I just wonder if anyone get your information after making a request. If so, how long had you been waiting until getting the information?

Please provide me with your experience.

Thank you!!

I made a request on November 14,2013 and sent a follow up email at end of December for not receiving my notes. I ended up getting them in the first week of January,2014. You should be getting them anytime now.

This is from the inland 2014 from 2Rxist. I just checked the site and they changed the mailing address to ON.

Hi everyone,

I couldn't help noticing that everyone who has sent Inland applications in 2014 has sent them to the Vegreville office.

We are sending our Inland application on Monday, and now we are a bit confused.

According to the information obtained from
cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5289ETOC.asp

which is the "Applying for permanent residence from within Canada: Spouse or common-law partner in Canada class (IMM 5289)" Guide, it is saying to submit to

In-Canada sponsorship
CPC ― Mississauga
P. O. Box 5040, Station B
Mississauga, Ontario
L5A 3A4

and the same address is on the updated Document Checklist (IMM 5443).

We were all set to submit to the Mississauga office, until I noticed this difference.

Can anyone clear this up??

Thanks !!

Oh shit..I know what you mean now, the address in the checklist states Mississauga while website states Vegreville..
I think you should call CIC to verify that, somewhere is wrong since the checklist is jan2014 version..
