How much proof did you include for your Common law status with your application? Any of those that screech just mentioned?

At least when you do have the interview, you get AIP on the spot after the interview is concluded or in the next day or 2. That is what usually happened according to those who got called in for relationship verification.

There was one case whereby the couple came in with their extended family, aunt uncles, parents. The agent saw this and didn't bother conducting interview. Just gave AIP status.

In our application we had a lawyer stamped declaration of common law status, rental receipts, tons of photos, joint bills for utilities.

Then you should be okay. Bring the same docs if you can and latest joint accounts, bills, etc to show that you are still continuing the common law.

If possible arrange a copy of the lease agreement with your partner added on to it in addition to those rental receipts. Also open a joint bank account or a joint credit card so you can have joint statements for both when you're called in for the interview.

Since you haven't mentioned reference letters, get your friends and family to do them to vouch for your relationship (if you haven't already done these, as far as I remember these were a requirement to a common law application).

I think for common law the reference letters need to be notarized but I'm not sure. Someone might have a better opinion on this.

had an interview Sept. 2013

Medical request Oct. 12, 2013

Aip and OWP received Oct. 16.

now, waiting for the 2nd stage

Haha, in my case, it's just wondering when the Landing interview letter will arrive...

BTW, my wife's work permit arrived earlier this week, and just checked the status online, and it also updated to Decision Made.

My wife just happened to be at Scarborough Town Centre, so she went to check with a service agent who says they typically can take 3-6 months.

Yeah, it is confusing. Since you applied Inland, you will likely `land' at the local Vancouver office. Inland applicants `land' in Canada, while Outland applicants can leave and re-enter or flagpole at a land border to land.

I'm encouraged to see that your interview is in Vancouver, since I've read that they can have ridiculous wait times. How long did you have to wait, after receiving your DM for the interview?
