Yeah this whole process really stinks.
another frustrating part for us, is we live in Edmonton and the Vegreville office is 1 hour away. Somedays I want to drive there and tell them to start working faster haha. but that will probably end up with a deportation.
I'm with ya on the cold beer + about 10 =)

Haha I can see why. We live in Calgary and actually talked about it. delivering our app ourselves because I was about to run out of status but I believe the office who process the applications in Vegreville are closed to the public, so you'd probably have to climb some kind of fence - but I see whatcha mean its extremely frustrating :)

Yup it's going to be one sweet day just a huge relief.. I strongly believe if any issues that even come remotely close to be as difficult as waiting months and months with no answer, we'd handle that challenge easily lol!!

I'm on the same boat as you guys. I sent mine in January and was hoping to get my OWP for July/August. Yeah...not gonna happen. I am looking forward on getting that e-mail we've all been waiting for and be able to get working ASAP. After a few cold beers of course ;)

Inland application sent Mar 23, 2013
Received in Vegreville Mar 27, 2013
Started processing June 5, 2013

Heres to hoping that it's a good sign that it had started processing only a week after it was received. OWP was sent in along with the application. We are hoping for send of August for AIP and OWP.

Yeah im sure that office has some good security. I had a dream last night that our application was returned with a bunch of wrong things and missing signatures etc. I woke up so mad lol. Thank god it's just a dream. Yeah hopefully in a little bit we get our AIP at least.

when did you (Line.a and LaylaLala) do your medicals? We did ours on like around January 10th I believe. I hope they will extend ours and let it go if we don't get DM by then. Coming from the USA with no medical problems hopefully will help.

I didn't get mine done. I decided to wait in case they took too long to process the application (I think I jinxed it -.-). I think you shouldn't have any issues. Hopefully they'll speed up things soon. I'm going crazy not being able to work. :(

Haha ok so I'm not the only one experiencing bad dreams about a rejected application. I think it's pretty normal it's such a stressful event it starts occurring in our dreams. I have the tendency to not go back to this place too too often because reading other people's stories makes my mind run a 100 miles an hour lol! I haven't done my meds yet I'm waiting for them to contact me (at least I hope they do?) plus believe you gotta pay up front like $200 or so.. Ugh money money money it's hurting! Well whether she's had medical issues in the past or not she'll still be ok. I'm suffering from arthritis and I already had cataracts removed from my eyes (I'm only 23 lol) and I got told I'd still pass. :)

I couldn't agree more.. It's so boring being stuck at home. I don't know a lot of people where I live, so I Skype and Facebook my friends back home which can usually make me extremely home sick. I haven't been in my own home country for almost 3 years now so once I'm a landed PR I'm really convinced its time for a holiday back home :)

Wow 3 years. I'n on my second, although I did go last summer. I hear ya about "facebooking" and "skyping". But Facebook is driving me nuts. I've become addicted becuase I want to keep in touch with everyone! LOL Oh well, we'll just have to keep waiting and hope for the best. ;)

Ya Facebook is the ultimate time waster for sure, just makes me feel like a stalker. I know it's a bad thing to say, but I envy a lot of people who tells about oh ya I just graduated or they work and progress.. And I'm stuck on my own shell for a long time! I guess I'm just really negatively affected discovering that our applications will take longer lol :)

In 19 days my medical will expire and not a word in English from CIC. So I guess I'll have to find another $200 for medical redo. This is really heartless friends. It's heartless. The immigration minister tweets regularly. We can follow him. He might no be aware of how dumb his call centre folks are

They can request an extension of medicals up to 15 months after the original medical examination date, so you might not require them.

@computergeek
Thank u very much for the assurance. Geek, the call centre told me that my background checks were active, what do they mean by this? And why would they commence these checks before sponsor approval, or before I'm eligible?
