Unfortunately a post grad work permit is not extendable so you cannot get implied status. So you will have to wait for stage 1 approval.

it is true that post grad work permit was not extendable, but the employer can apply LMO for the employee and have that extended..
I have a long history with study permit, PGWP, work permit, implied status...

I was on study permit --> PGWP (3 years) --> implied status waiting for work permit (didn't leave country and continued working until work permit was approved) ~ about 3 months --> work permit (2 years) --> applied for PR under family class sponsorship --> work permit expired, didn't leave country and continued working under implied status until now

BTW, I got my OWP in the mail today.. I was approved Jan 21.. so took 5 business days to arrive. it is valid for 1 year

I'm hoping I get a letter from Vancouver office for the landing date soon

That's so odd, I start to think its on the way back to Vegreville since Canada post didn't forward it. Not sure.. But have to wait until February 19th to call and get them to send a new one out! :/

I got my landing interview letter on the mail and it is for Feb 12th at Etobicoke.

Whatever it is, this is so exciting!!!

Hmmm maybe you should call CIC and let them know and double check your medical validity so you wont need to re-do and waste another sum of money for something that you dont need? ;D

Unfortunately, it is a possibility,I have read few members talk about that Canada Post doesn't forward government mail or something.

Ok great thank you, yes I sent the one from the ministry of justice but I didn't know about the clearance so I need to get that sent away.

Also looks like when I changed my address on ECAS and online. It change the address under my name but not my partners. So hopefully my OWP will arrive to the right address and not our old one. Will be another fun morning tomorrow waiting for CIC to pick up the phone.

You should call the call centre and change your address or you will find yourself in the same situation as some of us.
I though by changing it on ecas it would be enough but my DM letter arrived with the old address so I had to call anyway and they finally changed it… My OWP is nowhere to be found. But thankfully my landing letter arrived in the new address all because I change it by phone..

ALSO, question - hubby didn't send fingerprints. Is he going to need to send them? This is a really confusing portion of the application as I believe that some people need to send them and others don't. Any feedback on this? Hubby is from Turkey, by the way if that makes a difference.

Not everyone needs to get their fingerprints done. All the requested documents requested in the AIP email need to be sent. Did your hubby receive the email yet?
