Hi everyone!

A blessed New Year to all! I am currently completing my documents under the Application for Permanent Residence from within Canada and I would like to make sure that we filled out all the forms correctly.

First of all, I was undecided which way to go for the application, whether inland or outland but I chose the first one, although I've been told that the latter would be more faster in terms of it's processing timeline. I just figured since I am here in Canada as a TFW and my work permit does not expire until July 2014, I could apply for open work permit at the same time, and that would extend my stay here just the same.

I just have one quick question under IMM 0008 form question #4- should I write down Manila Philippines since it's my country of nationality or CPC Mississauga or Vegreville?, since I've been legally admitted in Canada for more than 2 years now.

Thanks!

Hi guys! congrats on all getting aip/decision made.
As for myself, I've got aip on january 7th, indicating to take medicals (which I did on january 9th) and fingerprints for the GRC (done on january 10th)
I was wondering... they told me my medicals would get to cic in 5 working days, and the fingerprints take longer cuz they'll send them to my house in 1-2 weeks and then I have to send it to cic, SO MY question is...eventought website estimâtes stage 2 on 8 months... has anyone has been answer faster for 2nd stage?

ALSO, i have been nerveus about my medicals cuz they asked me to pass the urine exam twice, saying they find "something" in the first one... I'm not sick, i dont feel sick, i dont smoke, drink, drugs or anything, but Im a girl and a contraceptive sometimes make me a little unconfortable in general... that day, i was feeling funny cuz of it. Can this be what they found? After second urine exam they told me they will sent it to extra analysis and call me if something dangerous was found, but they never called... anyway, Im still worried.
BECAUSE OF THIS, I WAS DOING RESEARCH ON MEDICALS AND SPONSORSHIP...
and apparently, as spouses, we can only get denied for medical reason if we represent a danger to public health. cuz as part of the spouses category, we are excempt of been inadmisible if we represent a huge expense for the country, there's even a part about HIV people who will also get accepted.

So, if I dont feel sick, and its probably only cuz of my "silly and annoying" birthcontrol method, and my hubby is not sick (which means im not "contagious").. i have nothing to worry about, right? gosh... im really worry anyway! :(

Hi @Tomorisu, you talked to me once about 200$ fee for "health insurance" before getting RAMQ. I did my RAMQ registration on thursday and they will send me the card in april after the carence period, anyway, they didnt told my anything about this amount... would you please tell me when and how where you asked to pay for it? thanks! :)

Hi MaxLet. I received my health insurance card on 10th January, though they told me I'm covered from 1st Jan. :P

RAMQ don't ask you about $200. It's Revenu Québec! Even now, I'm not sure why I had to pay $200. But I guess it's a 'Health contribution'. I think you might need to pay something at tax return in this spring.

Until we see this magic formula, I'm going to go ahead and say that is probably highly unlikely.

mattb123 I hope that you do know that this time last year processing time for stage one approval was at 6 months and it changed because of the strike and I guess there was a hug backlog and I also read in an article that cic usually slows down in the summer months in order to process visitor and temporary worker applications. In addition over the pass few weeks when they do actually work on apps I realized that they have the capacity to process two weeks of apps in one week which means that they can process one month worth of applications in two weeks. On Friday jan 10th someone who applied on march the 15th got news from cic so they should be done with March applicants this week. Base on those numbers and the trend that I discovered on their work patterns this is where I came up with my little calculator. it might not be full proof and I don't know what's going to happen but can say that if they continue at this rate do not be surprise if processing times significantly decrease this year for us.

Folks-g, I don't know how you came up with your formula, but let me tell you that you are an amazing human being! I'm an early April applicant, so if your formula holds true, my husband and I will hear something this month! :) You have no idea how happy you've just made me. Lifts the spirits. :)

+1.
Mrs_Canuck lol lets just be positive and follow the numbers the time for us to shine is coming up are you ready?
