Big congratulations to everyone who has got goodnews from Cic.I am new onthe forum. I am so lost. I was just reading some of the post made by members. You guys are awesome. Can someone please fill me in? My application was received by CIC onthe 30th of May for sponsorship and work permit. What is the recent timeline like? When am I likely to get OWP?

At the rate they're processing 2013 apps, my guess is that you'll never get OWP.

It is taking roughly 11 months to get first stage approval (AIP) and that is when you will get OWP. So roughly sometime next month perhaps, although they have slowed down a bit again recently, so expect maybe a little longer. Just hang in there. They WILL get to everyone and when they start moving again, it will be fast and make your head spin.

Sad sad.. Guess I should just enjoy Christmas and not get any hopes up for next week's update!!

Just an update guys: I'm a March 2013 applicant for spousal sponsorship + OWP. Anyway haven't heard anything about it of course. But anyhow my work permit expired in November 30th of this year, so first week of September, I extended my stay as a visitor and exactly 87 days later (cause I did paper submission instead of online).. I was informed by CIC that it was approved and it's on its way, valid for a year. Following the 11 months timeline for 1st stage approval, I'm hoping we'll receive the AIP and OWP in February.

Please note this only represents the people on this forum, there are probs thousands of applicant's who aren't on here, so although the applications in January have received AIP on this forum, it doesn't mean all January applications have gotten AIP.

Just a heads up I got my landing date for Jan.22 2014, I land in Calgary agent told they had sent me landing letter via e-mail today (which I haven't gotten yet) and if I don't get the email within a few days I should call back so landing letter could be sent for me via snail mail.
