I can't believe it's almost November now. Time is flying so fast! Decided to take my mind off things and not visit this page so often, it can be stressful at times! :) still checking our emails at least a dozen times a day to hopefully see an AIP!!

By the way we did our application in gel pens as well. I'm sure they'd sent the app back immediately if they weren't happy with it! I don't think it really matters :)

Use black ink to sign the forms.

No gel pens, please. ;)

What's with you? You're telling people standards that don't exist. People are already on high alert for any error, mistake etc, and desperately hoping that everything is correct. Please think before you post.

Whoa, chill out, it probably says this on CIC's form to use black ink or something which is probably why that person said that.

Hello,

I have been a member of this forum for quite some time (since my own pr application-dad sponsored me) and have followed your thread for some months now.
We will be sending our spusal application for my husband in a couple of weeks and wanted to say congratulations to all of you who have gotten through the process.

It is a difficult situation.

Cheers!!

Hola tica,

I wish you the best for you & your hubby.

Pura Vida

Easy now.. She's just trying to help! Nothing else. I doubt any in here would mislead by any means. We're here to help each other.

Morning all,

I'm not trying this but was wondering....once I have my OWP, could I leave Canada on vaccation without worrying about not being let back in?

On the very bottom of my husbands OWP, and in bigger and bolder letters it says: ***THIS DOES NOT AUTHORIZE RE-ENTRY*** (u cant miss it..) Im not saying you wont get back in... but, the risk is surely there.

Why did they transfer your file to the local immigration if you don't mind my asking?....congratulations on your DM

We are still not really sure, we were interviewed before AIP .... we suspect they had concerns that we were not a genuine couple. There were quite a few red flags with our application. Also, after our file was received in Vegreville, it was transferred to a backlog reduction office in Vancouver (not our local CIC, we live in Ontario).. we arent really sure why that happened either.

I am brand new on this forum and am hoping for any suggestions

Here is my situation

- I am an American Citizen
- My boyfriend is a Quebec born Canadian citizen.
- We both live in Quebec together since December 2012
- I am on a student visa from april 2013-august 2014
- We use to work abroad and decided to move to Canada last year. This dec will be 1 year living together, which qualifies us as common law
- I graduate from my McGill Graduate Diploma program April 2014
- We understand the differences in the application and point system for the Quebec CSQ systems.

We have 2 visa options
1. I apply in April 2014 for the Post Graduate Open work permit after my 10 month full time program
2. We can file our Common Law PR Application This December 2013

Questions
1. For our PR application, we can only apply inland right? In your experience approximately how long does that actually take? Can we apply outland if thats faster?
2. If we apply inland, am I allowed to leave the country since I still have my student visa until August 2014
3. Can we put in m PR application and then In APril also apply for the open work permit , because I don't think the PR will be completed by April

We have done much research and again we know the differences and steps for the Quebec specific steps.
We are looking for more general suggestions and opinions.
We aren't sure if we should do both the PR, and the Post-Grad Open work permit

I just want to make sure that when April comes, and I complete my McGill Graduate Diploma I am able to search for a job and stay here

Any help, thoughts, or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

i think you can apply at same time, but i will say find a company will accept you and apply work permit coz inland take 1st stage 11 month now DM is 2nd stage take 8 months( what that hell last time i check was 6months!!)

Is it just me, or it feels like quite a slow day here, and at the 2012 thread ? :(
