Hey guys, it's been a while since I've posted here, still check in time to time to see how everyone is doing.
Things seems to be moving at a steady paste for most. For those who have receive good news, congratulations. For those still waiting I wish u a speedy process.
I'm still waiting for my pr cars myself and my temporary social I received from my work permit had expires. But hey at least I know what I'm waiting for righty?
I landed on June 10th so.... It has been only 43 days
The waiting continues.
Have a great wednesday guys....

Hello everyone, We're rejoicing in Gods favor!!! My husband had his landing interview yesterday, after waiting over 2hrs and complaining of the wait we were finally seen. The process was simple enough, asked the typical questions mentioned by previous persons on here. The landing officer asked us a few personal questions, where we work, how long we worked there, how long we've lived at our current address. Because of their lateness we were unable to apply for his permanent S.I.N, they asked us to wait the 8-10 weeks it'll take for the PR card to be mailed. We're going to try going to a service Canada office and pray they'll do it or go back to the office since it was their fault we couldn't apply. All in all we're thankful this chapter has closed and excited for the FREEDOM this gives us!!! Thank you to everyone who offered their support and encouragement :)

Congrats on your husband's landing as PR. Sorry to hear that they didn't process your husband for SIN. You can try to come back to the same office but I think it will be an unsuccessful attempt. The odds are not in your favour. For one, your husband now doesn't have an appointment at the office. You can try and let us know how it turned out.

As for getting an SIN outside the CiC office, most of the CIC offices will not process your SIN card if you were done "inland". I agree that it is a very unfair arrangement considering "outland" can get theirs the same or next day at the earliest.

There has been a scattered case whereby the "inland" PR was able to get their SIN, such as QuebecOkie was able to do.

Good luck and let us know if you were able to apply for SIN.

hi,I an new here and need some help please..........I got a letter from CIC that processing of my application was completed and CIC Montreal will contact me for an appointment for the finalization of my permanent resident application.
I was very happy after all that time waiting.
I called the call center twice and was told by 2 different rep that the waiting time for an interview was 12 weeks by one and 4 months by another.
My question to anyone here is ....... Did you have a resent interview by CIC Montreal and how long did it take to get an appointment ?
Please can someone help me with this, I would have thing it is over but it look like it now start. >:( >:(

Hi everyone, just wanna let you know that wife received PR Card today thx for all your supports good luck for everybody ,
61 Days since landed

My wife has her landing appointment July 29 at CIC Ottawa. She received DM on July 10. I suspect this quick turnaround is due to the fact that her medicals will expire this fall (completed Oct. 2012); study permit expires mid-Aug; and we involved our MP about 1 month ago.

Hey guys just so you know the rules have changed for inland PRs applying for SIN. You can now go to service Canada locations with your documents and apply instead of waitin for your PR card in the mail. This is a huge relief because waiting 8-10weeks is ridiculous.

Congratulations @Migrain!!!
I know this has been such a long a tedious process it it almost over for u.
Only have to wait for PR card now.
Did she land at Rue Catherine?
They don't process Sin there, were u able to get ur sin or do u have to wait?

I called CIC yesterday because I realize the address they have in the system to me was my Lawyers number and I was told that my PR card was mailed out yesterday.
That's was some pleasant news cause I don't have a valid social since mine expired a few days ago. I was told from two seperwte offices I had to wait until I got my card to get a permanent social... Sigh!

That is great news. How did you find out about this long overdue change. Is there a policy change to that effect? Is there a link indicating this new change?

Thanks Jolly1. It has definitely been a long wait. Our landing appointment is on Tuesday at 200 Catherine Street so will let folks know how it goes.

Thanks for the heads up on SIN - we will have to go to Service Canada office elsewhere in the city (likely south end) to request permanent SIN.

We went to the service Canada office today, we were told by the workers there. It literally changed 2 days ago, I'll search the net for something in writing.
