4. All document issued by CIC (I thinks I need to bring my visiter records ...)
5. Proof of valid Temporary Residence status in canada ( what is this ?? I don't apply OWP...)

Your visitor records are your proof of valid temporary residence (assuming you don't have an OWP or study permit).

6. Notice of seizure form IMM5265, if applicable--->this one is strange...

This would be the case if CBSA was holding your travel document. I suspect that's why it says "if applicable".

I think your timeline for PR card should be based on the timeline of PR at time of landing. Anyone who landed this week would get the timeline based on this week PR card timeline of 38 days. If you can remember how long your PR card timeline was at time of landing, that would be how long you may have to wait before you call.

My wife's PR card arrived in the expected time based on PR card timeline at week of landing. Even though the PR card timeline was getting shorter as weeks went by.

Well that would have been 80+ days so I guess I'm looking at sometime early December, which is shitty because I got a letter today saying that my BC medical will be active from Dec 1st and that I need to take ID into my local ICBC office to be issued my card. Not to mention I need to get a SIN asap.

@ computergreek

Thank you very much for your reply...I did not apply either OWP or Study Permit..all I have are one visitor record I got from CBSA when I arrived last year and a renewed visitor extension which is valid until 2015..so I will bring both...

So...what are "all documents issued by CIC" then ?? Landing letter and DM email ??

The visitor record and your extension are the documents it is refering to. Not landing letter. However it is good to take that with you so you can show them you got a reason to be there.

Congrats on getting your landing letter. I will update on Monday.

Make sure the pictures are PR pictures too.

@ Screech

Finally I got a snail mail for my landing interview in Scarborough this afternoon...the letter was dated on Nov. 7th and my landing date has been scheduled on DEC. 19th.... ;D
The letter mentioned that I need to provide them with satisfactory original identity documents, which It means my pass port ????

The letter also asks me to bring the following:
1. My own interpreter, if required.
2. My sponsor
3. 2 Photos with specific size
4. All document issued by CIC (I thinks I need to bring my visiter records ...)
5. Proof of valid Temporary Residence status in canada ( what is this ?? I don't apply OWP...)
6. Notice of seizure form IMM5265, if applicable--->this one is strange...

Is there any other thing I should be aware of before my appointment ??
thank you so much for your advice

Congrats on your landing date!

I got my DM october 27th and havent heard anything from scarborough office as of yet! I think ill call them to make sure things are all in order. Do they send it by regular mail even if all previous communications were emails?

Thanks for ur support QuebecOkie! Hope u get ur PR card soon.

Thanks! I hope I'll get it before I travel, but either way, tickets are BOOKED. Going to see my family over the holidays, leaving December 22. I'm from the US, so I don't really expect trouble without the PR card, but you never know.

You could request urgent pr card processing

@ Screech,

Thanks for your further clarification. I'll keep that in mind.
Actually they also send me the size description for the PR photo, which I will take with me when I get my photos done.

@ HME,

Sorry you have not yet heard any thing from Scarborough....I believe yours is coming soon...perhaps your landing date would be earlier than mine since your DM is before me...
I will have my fingers crossed for you for getting this letter soon.

It's a regular mail in the mail box instead of email...this is the ONLY one I got the physical one from CIC so far...

Good luck with you...

Didn't know this was an option. I've poked around a little bit on the CIC website, but all I can find is stuff that looks like it's for people applying for a PR card renewal, not for those who are set to automatically receive their first one. Can you point me in the right direction?

Somebody posted a message to that effect of speeding up the PR card for first issue. Called CIC PR card department and explained that they have their tickets booked and faxed it to them for proof.

You can try that yourself and see if they are able to speed it up despite it is already in process.

Thanks for the info! I had found that page, but none of the info looked like quite what I needed. So I act as though my "application for PR card is not yet in progress," then mail in an application for PR card with explanation and proof of travel and payment for travel?
