Hey guys does anyone know how long it takes to get landing appointment from Calgary office am a Jan 2013 applicant and I got AIP and DM with OWP approved yesterday. Also on my AIP and DM letter it was addressed to my former addressed even though I updated the address since Feb and also called to confirmed the address update so am hoping they won't send my OWP to my previous address wondering if anyone has similar experience with the address issue.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, the Calgary office seems to takes the longest. Some have waited up to 90-100 days to land in Calgary.

Did you even set up mail forwarding service? If you did, any mail that got sent to old address, it would end up at your new address. Any time I move in a middle of an important process, I would set up mailing forwarding just in case.

I had a case of an applicant who moved like you did. Even updated the online address change. CIC kept sending information request to the old address on file. Since CIC had no reply from the applicant by a deadline, they assume, the applicant abandoned the sponsorship and gave the applicant a negative DM.

Thanks for the update. I actually use the date OWP arrive in the mail. I use this date because that is when they can actually use the OWP to apply for temp SIN. Can't apply for Temp SIN with an OWP approval email.

Hi all,

I've been posting over at the Quebec Inland Applicants forum, but this one's been incredibly helpful--thanks so much, screech339!

I just wanted to say that we moved a few months ago and I changed my address on e-cas, but all the emailed correspondance still had the old address. It didn't bother us because we had Canada Post forwarding set up. However, when I finally called to change the address, they said that mail wouldn't be forwarded if it was government mail. As it's the call centre, I don't know if this is correct, so if anyone has any experience with this, I'd appreciate it--and I'd recommend that everyone change their address asap with the call centre as necessary.

You do raise a good point. I know this because some years ago CRA sent my income tax refund money to my old address despite me stating new address on the income tax forms. It never got forwarded and I had to submit a declaration that I never received my cheque. CRA told me that new address on income filing is not official address change. I was suppose to inform CRA directly. After they received my declaration, they re-issued the cheque to my new address.

Hi kanadskazena, so where did CIC end up sending your documents old address or new updated address on ECAS?

Well--this only happened a couple of days ago. According to the timelines at the Quebec inland forum, my husband (who is the actual applicant; I am the sponsor) should have received a letter from the Montreal landing office last week. He didn't, though. When my husband called on Tuesday to ask about this and change the address, the call centre said that no letter had been sent and that we shouldn't expect to hear from Montreal for another few weeks. I personally suspect that a letter was sent to the old address, but since I am not a representative for my husband, I can't call again and find out--my husband is out of town. We did send off the representative form on Wednesday (you can email it) so I can be made a representative, but the call centre said that it would take 10-14 days to process.

Conclusion: all spouses should allow their spouses to be their representatives and addresses should be changed through the call centre! And hopefully my husband's landing date hasn't been pushed to mid-2015!
