Good news! Don't have to redo my medicals! They got extended until November 2014!

@sounion, I can't say this was a crap consultant because honestly my husband's situation was a little unconventional and she really helped us develop a solid plan towards getting approved. I think she is just a little old school and unaware of some of the things you can get away with; I mean the first stage (AIP) distinctly says "you can now apply for a work permit".

I think my medical was dated Oct 22. They began processing my application on the 28th. I wonder if they extended mine or if I'll have to do them again ...

I probably REALLY should call them to see if I can get any information. I get so OCD about this stuff sometimes and not hearing anything about my part of it only the hubby's is weighing in on me right now! LOL

I am afraid to go downstairs, because if I do, I will say something about it again and he will look at me like I sprouted another head! LOL I think he is tired of hearing my "what if's" for the day Can't say I blame him though! LOL

Your consultant may have been old school but it didn't hurt to apply for OWP with application. At least this way, you can get OWP approval at same time as AIP stage. Now you end up waiting another month or 2 before you get OWP assuming you will apply after AIP stage. You can now apply online for OWP if you so desire. Applying for OWP online is only for those who did not submit the paper OWP application with sponsorship.

Congrats Sonja!!!

When I was stuck in the waiting before AIP
and I saw ppl who had AIP complaining about the wait
fr AIP to DM and the the Wait before the landing
letters u remember thinking why are they complaining
they hv AIP and can work!! But untill you are in it , you can't understand
it. This process and the waiting can make us go nuts!!!

There have been AIP for Dec applicants, Cornfretis! I am Dec 7, as is Tomorisu and several others. Some of us only AIP, but others of us AIP and DM at the same time. Just sit tight, you are right around the corner!

Thanks QO (see how I took the liberty to give your nickname a nickname there? LOL) I am not terribly concerned with the actual AIP letter only to the extent that it will allow me to get OHIP applied for. Otherwise, it is just some more paper. I would like to know if I need to redo medicals and such though, my biggest concern right now, because mine DID expire Oct 22, or at least that is why my receipt from the doc is dated from last year. That is my main concern that I don't know if they need this information or not LOL
