@sunbrey,

This is not the AIP we are looking for though. You can't do anything with it as it is addressed to the sponsor. Not you. The letter doesn't confirm you as an applicant saying you qualify for PR and doesn't say you can apply for OWP if so desired.

So the AIP for sponsor is an useless letter as you as an applicant can't do anything with this letter.

You are now updated correctly. Got your application submitted still wrong. Had it listed as dec 13, not dec 3. So now you're 157. Sorry for the confusion on my part.

After Months of waiting (which feels like years!!) The first strike in over 30 years for immigration workers and a new immigration minister and today my husband got an email from CIC stating "You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor" !!!!!

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! :-* ;D

I am hoping this means we have received our AIP!! Should I be getting an email from CIC as well ??

Whats the next steps and timeframe from here?

Congrats!!!! That means your husband's been approved and you should be getting an email very shortly saying your application will go into processing for Stage 2 and can apply for medical and a temporary SIN card so you can work!

I have noticed many of us October applicants are not getting the approved in principal letter the only person receiving their qualification letter is the sponsor. Many of us that apply in October I Still waiting for our approval in principle letter.I don't think we're getting a letter anyway so my advice to you guys who have received it is not to wait for it go ahead and apply for your work permit if you haven't already done so.
Because with your work permit you can then go ahead and apply for you temporary social and temporary health card.
Plz call cic and make sure no other correspondent was sent to you
that you haven't Received!

We were the opposite. My husband hasn't received anything from CIC since AOR. The AIP and DM letters came to me (by email), and he hasn't received anything. I don't care at all, as I have what I need, but it's just so stupid how inconsistent and unreliable CIC is with these very important pieces of correspondence.

As far as I'm concerned CIC has no excuse in not sending an AIP to the applicant. Once the sponsor received his/her qualification as sponsor, the PR applicant should get the AIP. If CIC require any further documentations, they can ask for it after issuing AIP. At least the applicant can do something with it. Apply for driver licence, apply for health coverage, apply for OWP, etc.

Hopefully we will get the AIP soon. How long before the email from the time my husband gets his approval to the time I should get AIP?

@screech!! I wish they were at least consistent
with some thing at CIC! I've called numerous
times and each time is something different!
Some time when I call I wish I had the backing of
this forum in my call. Two cic call Center workers
told me that there was no such letter!!
Like I was some crazy person asking for se thing that didn't
Exist! One even said to me at no point in the first stage
is the applicant assessed! Say what??

I don't want to steal your celebration but we've
received my qualification and request fore to redo my
medical on September 11th and we're still waiting to receive
my AIP letter. It's not coming.... We were told it was sent on the 11th by one person
And that no such letter exist by another.
9 days and the email miraculously hasn't arrived? Then again how could it arrive it it
doesn't exist?

That doesn't make sense to me. Isn't the first stge consists of evaulating the sponsor's qualification and at same time need to assess the applicant's genuine relationship? I have only seen so far that AIP has been given once the relationship is consider genuine. Anytime there was doubt about the relationship, an interview is usually ordered before being granted AIP.

Now this is based on my observation on the feedback and timesheets updates on the forum.

@screech, when I called the lawyer to tell
him what was going on, when I told him we got the letter saying hubby
was qualified and to redo the medical
He told me congratulations, I was like what for
He said the goal is passing the first stage
With out your file being transferred!
He said its easy sailing from here on out.
So I think you are correct!! Cic should give us ALL jobs
after this hideous process!!
My hubby always say I'm being so harsh on the
g'vment but you'd think that the information it's
Employees divulge to the publics should be at
least consistent since the facts are so hard to find!
