@ screech, when I called the lawyer to tell
him what was going on, when I told him we got the letter saying hubby
was qualified and to redo the medical
He told me congratulations, I was like what for
He said the goal is passing the first stage
With out your file being transferred!
He said its easy sailing from here on out.
So I think you are correct!! Cic should give us ALL jobs
after this hideous process!!
My hubby always say I'm being so harsh on the
g'vment but you'd think that the information it's
Employees divulge to the publics should be at
least consistent since the facts are so hard to find!

No offense to your lawyer. Its easy for him to say "its easy sailing from here on out" sitting behind a desk with a job. Without this AIP letter, you can't do anything. It is like you are still stuck on AOR stage. You can't apply for OWP, you can't apply for health coverage and for some you can't even get a driver licence.

Well this is so confusing, Jolly, Sunbrey and I have the same problem. So why is the call center agents saying we can go ahead now and apply for the OWP?

It seems before the they would send emails addressed to both the sponsor and the applicant but now Quebecokie's hubby never received an email, only she had and the three of us, applicants, have not received anything but our sponsors did.

I am gonna call again because yesterday I was like a fool repeating myself to the agent asking her if she is sure the email she is reading was addressed to me and not my husband. And she repeatedly said yes it had my name and I she doesn't know why I never received that email. smdh.... >:(

Don't mind Singhh postings. He is trying to make 10 posts to get PM ability. I told him to post nonsense to get 10 postings.

@ singhh lol... I was wondering what was going on haha

Screech my lawyer said the same thing in her email to us congratulating us on the letter from CIC.
What are we supposed to do now? :-\ stewpps..

GOOD NEWS!!!
I got the I am approved to Sponsor...and my husband got the ... This letter refers to your application for a work permit.
Your application has been approved and your new document will be sent separately... we overpaid.. they will send refund...

IS THIS AIP? OR NOT QUITE YET?

Not sure what to do. Do you want to work? You can always apply for OWP according to the CIC agent. But it doesn't solve the problem. You can't get on provincial health coverage. So you are delayed another few more months if you haven't gotten AIP letter. And you have to wait until you get OWP to get OHIP? That's not right.

Tell your lawyer that you can't get on OHIP without AIP letter addressed to you.

Congratulations!! If your husband got approved for OWP means he's got first stage approval. So happy that they;re on November 5th applications... Gets my hopes up that they're moving faster than before :D

Yep, AIP, and they're sending his OWP! Though, I'm not sure if you've received the actual AIP letter? Your husband should have a letter that states something like:

This letter refers to your application for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law
partner in Canada class.

It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident
status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. However, a final
decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident
have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks for you
and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not
applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you
and all your family members have met these requirements.

Not sure if it's different if you applied for OWP as well? (I didn't, and that's an excerpt from my letter. It goes on to say that I can apply for an OWP.) The AIP letter is important for some things, like provincial insurance and drivers' licenses. Some of our members haven't received their AIP letters like they should have.
