Just an update; I have landed on 11th May at Scarborough office. I appreciate every info on the forum which made the waiting time much more easier.

Congrats to you dk_fb on your landing saturday past. Your status has been updated on the timesheets.

Congrats to you again. It appears that brandy, silver oaks and dk_fb all landed on the same day in scarborough. Funny thing is all 3 have had AIP and DM at same time all at the same landing location on same day.

Hi everyone! I’d like you to share some news about my progress.
I received mail stating that they have made a decision on my case on April 18th . On May 1st I got mail with invitation to the landing interview on May 24th.
Rusty53, please update my info in the spreadsheet.
Thanks

Do they give you any document saying that you got PR at the interview (if decision is positive)? If yes, what is it? Does it give us right to travel?

Congrats i4o on your DM and landing date. I have been given the torch to carry on updating the timesheet. Your info will be updated shortly.

If you could provide me where your landing office is located as well as where you are living and what country of origin as applicant is coming from.

Thanks

Depending on what country you are coming from, you will get a stamp in passport and counterproof foil in the passport. It is then called COPR. It is not an official travelling ID. You still need a PR card to travel internationally back to Canada as most airlines/buses won't let you on without a PR card back to canada.

However if you drive to US, you can reenter Canada at border with a COPR only.

Yay!!! Django has been unleashed. ;D. *dancing*. The interview took about 15 mins. We were all asked to go into a room for briefing. And then we were called one after the other. We were about 5 couples in total. A guy came late and was required to reschedule.

The interview was really chill. No personal questions, just mostly verification of status and criminal record questions. My interviewer(female) was really nice and friendly.

I need to celebrate! And also i have broom hilde with me. She says hi to screech, rusty, jiggyzealous, wolanila(i like that name for some reason)..... and to everyone who applied in 2012. I wish you all fast DMs and short landing dates.

Django unleashed 2013

Django
you've been unleashed. God bless you and yours. Say hello to broom hilde. We are shivering even as we await first stage

@ jiggy

We really have to wait the 17 month Kingston wait as well? I thought it would be quicker because they are minors and the app was done here? Do you think they would give them temp visas to visit at least, they havnt seen their dad in over 3 years... :-X

@krisskriss
I should think they're process in receiving order. My friend and sister (sister is a minor) are being sponsored along with their mom's inland application. Their file went to Jamaica June last year. Did medicals last August too but they only got passport requests last week. They'll get them back tomorrow

:'( ugh u don't like that at all, I wonder if they will issue visitors visas for them.

From what I read in the past online from other sources, CIC is not likely to give TRVs to those in process of PR to canada. The purpose of TRV is to visit canada temporary. The fact that the kids in jamaica are in process of staying in Canada permanently, issuing TRV defeats the purpose when the kids are not coming to stay in canada temporary. The customs are likely to deny them entrance into canada as process shows they are intending to stay permanently not temporary.

I may be in the wrong in this but it is doubtful that they will be issued TRV.

And your attorney/consultant cannot send it to you via courier? Sure they'll charge you for it, but $30 to eliminate a multi-hour drive AND ensure you have all the documents seems like cheap insurance to me.

Yes, if i would trust him enough that he send it in time.
I don't...

Another question:
I'll travel without my PR card and i have to renew my passport as well.
Is the COPR has my passport number on it?

Are you sure that your lawyer will be getting your PR card. I would have thought the PR card will get mailed to your address not your lawyer's. When you get your COPR at landing, wouldn't they want your mailing address not your lawyer's to send PR card?

Hello everyone...
Apparently Montreal Office is being really slow,
we got DM almost 1 month ago, and no news yet for the landing...
the waiting time never ends
hoping to hear news soon!!!!!!

I am not worried about my PR card , my visitor visa is at my lawyers office.
I have a work permit on me so i never picked it up or asked to be mailed to me.

In the landing appointment letter they ask for every immigration document issued.
That is the problem...

Hi JOR2012, I am waiting for Montreal's office too. When I called CIC first time to find out the waiting time, the agent told me that it was 1 month. Last week I called CIC again since it's been already 6 weeks waiting, they told me that waiting time is now 8 weeks and if by this time i won;t receive any news from Mtl office they will investigate. Really annoying! >:(
