Did anyone go to the landing interview without his/her visitor visa?

Mine is at my lawyers,i received my work permin a couple days after my visa so i didn't need it.
Do i have to have it? ( my lawyer live 2 hr away and i don't want to drive there just for that)
I don't have time for post because my landing date is this friday...

If you're already in Canada, why would you need a visitor visa? The work permit shows status in Canada, so all a TRV would do is allow you to travel back to Canada if you weren't in Canada. I cannot imagine any scenario in which an inland CIC officer would even want to see your TRV...

Hello guys,

I have a good news! My husband received an email on May 10th - approved AIP and I received a letter too and my work permit was approved too! Since I am pregnant I have chest X-ray pending, I hope once I submit it next month I will get the second stage approval soon.

They want to destroy them for some reason, that's what i read from other posts.
I really don't understand why would they need them.

I just don't want to risk it because a few days later we leave to my home country for 3 weeks and i can't risk a reschedule.

I just don't want to risk it because a few days later we leave to my home country for 3 weeks and i can't risk a reschedule.

And your attorney/consultant cannot send it to you via courier? Sure they'll charge you for it, but $30 to eliminate a multi-hour drive AND ensure you have all the documents seems like cheap insurance to me.

so disappointed, i called CIC this morning to confirm if they had received my renewed passport copy.. and as a feb 2012 applicant who just got AIP at this stage, i asked about the progress (of cos, in the hope of hearing the agent saying sth good..haha) .. she said, 8 months in average... and my background check if still in progress.....

asked me to wait till august before i call again.. -.-

i asked why so many applicants submitted later than me got AIP + DM althogether in a few months but we "old" applicants got to wait, she was kind to comfort though...

Yay!!! Django has been unleashed. ;D. *dancing*. The interview took about 15 mins. We were all asked to go into a room for briefing. And then we were called one after the other. We were about 5 couples in total. A guy came late and was required to reschedule.

The interview was really chill. No personal questions, just mostly verification of status and criminal record questions. My interviewer(female) was really nice and friendly.

I need to celebrate! And also i have broom hilde with me. She says hi to screech, rusty, jiggyzealous, wolanila(i like that name for some reason)..... and to everyone who applied in 2012. I wish you all fast DMs and short landing dates.

Just an update; I have landed on 11th May at Scarborough office. I appreciate every info on the forum which made the waiting time much more easier.
