I wonder if that's the reason why my wife hasn't receive a letter from the Scarborough office regarding her landing interview.
We received the DM on april 3, heard nothing ever since... According to the DM letter (emailed from the IO), we haven't pay the $490 fee yet, but it didn't indicate we must pay before the landing date can be given. Just say we must pay before the documents can be release at the office, and so I was planning to pay the fee a few days before her landing date.

Either way, I made the payments a moment ago and printed 2 copies of the receipt. Anyone know where I can submit this receipt or their system automatically sees we paid, and we just bring the receipt as proof on the landing date?

My case was the same, I mean 2 days after I received DM I have got a mail from scarborough office to pay the fee. the asked me to fax the proof and after 2 weeks I got a letter for a landing interview on Maj 7th.

I could be very wrong but I don't believe AIP and DM are any coincident. Why? I believe when the officer examined your file to send an AOR he or she might be able see if both stages will be completed at the same time and order background checks so by first stage is due, they might have results for security check and medical check; so the next step would DM. At aor if the officer wasn't satisfied with initial examination file might be transferred to local office then

Jiggyzealous, I was wondering if one does not get AOR the file will or may be transfer for interview. Just always wonder!

@nairaboy

It might or might not be true. Each officer is different. The consultant we were going to use is a former CIC visa officer for over 30 yrs. She told us that when an officer picks up your file to send AOR, he or she browse thru and have an idea if she or he will later complete the file later. If there are doubts it will be transferred at around aor, although sometimes it can be transferred when first stage is being assessed

12 days to landing :D! Does anyone know if i need to leave the border and come back in to get my pr?. I know a few people that did that in the past but i'm not sure if its still being done

Not for inland. Inland applicants are granted PR status inside Canada. Outland applicants can go to a POE or schedule a landing appointment with a local office. But inland applicants get the COPR at the landing interview, not in the mail (like Outland applicants).

I dare say that it is strange of them to say that they won't make appointment unless fees paid. They should be able to make appointment regardless and write saying bring receipt to appointment. If you don't have receipt they can just reschedule. This is the easier approach.

I agree this is rather strange.

I paid my entire fee at the time we filed the application, however we have not received a letter as of yet from Scarborough office for our landing interview. There has been correspondence what so ever. Zilch nada... Was hoping our interview would be on the same day as bibace as the approval dates are the same. Really sad :( Any advise on what i can do would be appreciated?

The only advice I can give is sit tight and wait (unfortuately). If it has reached 7-8 weeks since you heard anything, then contact CIC again and complain about the abstence notice from local CIC. They would make a note of it and may contact local CIC to find out what's the hang up.

It been 5 weeks today for us. Robotic has gotten a letter from Etobicoke for May 16 landing despite receiving DM 1 week after ours. It is a little fustrating to see someone to get letter sooner than yours despite landing at same CIC office as ours.

:( :( :( slow couch CIC is riding even slower. Still no change in processing times of October 8.

Don't lose faith Jiggy! I was 10/18 and I believe dk_fb & krissikris both heard while they were on the 10/5 / 10/8 timeframe and they both have dates after 10/8. I think the date updates to the date that shows the majority of candidates they're working on. Clearly though, they work some past the date posted as well. Just a couple more weeks!
