The only advice I can give is sit tight and wait (unfortuately). If it has reached 7-8 weeks since you heard anything, then contact CIC again and complain about the abstence notice from local CIC. They would make a note of it and may contact local CIC to find out what's the hang up.

It been 5 weeks today for us. Robotic has gotten a letter from Etobicoke for May 16 landing despite receiving DM 1 week after ours. It is a little fustrating to see someone to get letter sooner than yours despite landing at same CIC office as ours.

Hey Screech sometimes I wonder that the letter sent by snail mail might have gotten lost as Canada Post does not have a very good reputation for delivering normal mail. Is there a possibility that the letters were sent out and have been lost during transition?

That is a real possiblity. However it is no point in complaining to them now since I was told 7-8 weeks for Etobicoke. So they will likely tell me to wait and call back if I haven't heard in 8 weeks, longer than expected time.

So if most of them have received interview letters within 2 weeks of DM, with a landing date 1 week from the date of the letter. I was reading else where that the interview letter clearly states that if you do not make it for the interview or if you dont reschedule they assume that you are not interested in the PR.

I called them. No surprise that their response is 7-8 weeks for Etobicoke and thus continue to wait until May 26 before calling again.

LOL.. I called them up too.. Same response. Wait for two months before an interview call. Well I guess we got to wait and see what happens. I hope Canada Post is not on Strike... or does not go on strike.

I do think they should at least assign a tracking number of the landing appointment letter so that if it ever get "lost" it can be tracked. Of all the letters/emails, the landing appointment date letter is the most important.

I completely agree with you. Secondly the agents answering calls in CIC should have a bit more information with them. I think at times they just want to quickly get over with your call.

Actually the agent I spoke with was a courtious man that took the time and effort to look into the matter before relaying that the application is in process at Etobicoke and to wait a letter from them. If I don't hear anything by May 26, 8 weeks after my DM, call back then.

Mine just gave me an answer from the top of his head. He said "You will hear from them within eight weeks sir."

Could you please send me contact information of consultant.

thanks

It might or might not be true. Each officer is different. The consultant we were going to use is a former CIC visa officer for over 30 yrs. She told us that when an officer picks up your file to send AOR, he or she browse thru and have an idea if she or he will later complete the file later. If there are doubts it will be transferred at around aor, although sometimes it can be transferred when first stage is being assessed

Good morning everybody,

CIC updates Processing times. But no change... :'(
They're still working on applications received on Oct 8.
Tomorisu!

Your timeline is same as mine. I'm looking at the processing time everyday as well. Fingers crossed we will get Open Work Permit soon.

Does anyone around here knows if CIC local offices such as Etobicoke, Scarborough etc call people in for interviews on a Saturday?
