Just had my landing interview in Calgary. I was so nervous but everything went smoothly. We were just asked a couple questions about whether we had criminal convictions and/or dependents. So now I am officially a Permanent Resident of Canada!

Is it just me, or does it seem like CIC hasn't processed any files since beginning of January. I just find it very unfair that they are down to 8-9 months on current applicants, working on almost June 2013, while there are applicants that have applied much earlier, like 2011 and 2012, which are still waiting for DM. Not that I have anything against them speeding up, and I am very happy for everyone that receives AIP/DM/interview but not only that people like me waited for 11 months for AIP and now keeping on waiting for DM and interview and whatever. Why....are we put back in the cue, when the files could be opened on a more regular basis and closed sooner, so they can concentrate on the rest of the applicants much sooner. Excuse me all if I sound insensitive, ???, I just feel very discouraged and very disappointed. I thought I applied pretty late, and of course, the strike caught up to me as well, but now it makes me think that if I waited out more, I could have been done by now...it just doesn't make sense to me. Anybody else has a thought on this? Sorry for venting :-[

They received my medical Oct 2013... and now it's been 4 months after that... I am so frustrated... I'm afraid that the second stage is gonna take another 11 months or so...

I am actually Nov. 2010 applicant.... and just got approved in Oct. 2013. we waited for 3 years just to get the 1st stage approval... geeezzzzz! .. now waiting for 2nd stage... they said it's gonna take 8 months for the 2nd stage process and that includes my dependent in my home country... I really doubt it if that will be completed in 8 months... but I'll be happy if they will do that.

My background checks were done January 16... Now, it's my dependents turn... very loooooonggggggg process ! sigh! :-X

Hi Screech! yup! our file was transferred in Edmonton in 2011... and the waiting time there is 24 months... We went for an interview Sept. of last year.. and got approved in Oct.

That is why, I'm concerned about the processing time in the Philippines for my dependent... I hope they will request the medical examination right away since we waited 3 long years for just the 1st stage...I haven't embraced my son for almost 4 years now.

Olaf Better u call up and ask for this ..may be they forget or miss placed ur file ..because some people got their DM in Jan,2014 and they already got their landing interview letter yesterday...Good Luck and God bless all of us ......

I will be waiting to see who will receive their DM of both of us, and maybe we can include Deedar, since he/she has the same timeline in that little competition of ours. No it doesn't state your passport number on your PR card. It will state your UIC number on the PR card.
