Congrats on your AIP. I hope we can get it in one or two weeks!

Thank you!

I counted my AIP day
and it was kind of right.
So your AIP will come in 1-2 weeks!
And keep on eye on phone calls with unknown number.

I am a bit late to the party here, but thought I would set out my timeline for those who are still waiting.

Application for Sponsorship my husband received by Vegreville on January 5, 2012

Processing of Application for Sponsorship started on April 10, 2012

Letter from CIC sent September 16, 2012 approving Sponsorship Application.

Don't remember when letter with medical forms was received, but that was done.

Letter from CIC sent July 25, 2013 requesting proof of payment of landing fee and photocopy of passport, etc.

Letter from CIC sent late August? informing us of interview on September 30, 2013.

Attended at CIC Scarborough on September 30, 2013 and husband was "landed".

So, in all, it ook 21 months. Only 4 months longer than stated on the CIC website. (Now to wait 2 years so he can apply for citizenship.) ;D

my parents came here twice. First it was when i only moved here and didn't even apply for sponsorship yet.
We asked for 2 weeks to attend my wedding.
Second time we asked for multi-entry visas and they both had 10-year long visas.
While i'm still waiting for AIP and can not leave the country!!
They have jobs, travel history and good property
No problems at the customs

Hello,

Has anyone here try to bring your parents to visit.

My hubby and I would like for my parents to come and visit us for a month.

They need a visa, which
I don't think should be a problem since they both work, have a house and things to prove they do not want to move here.
but I am just wondering what about my application would it cause any problems, Visitor visas for Costa Ricans are issue in Guatemala but nevertheless I don't want to create any problems in our application.

That means CIC is working on Nov 20th!!!!!! ;D ;) :o :P

I just received this right now!! Are they requesting to redo police certificate or just canadian fingerprints?
This letter refers to your application for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class.

It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class.

Hi guys.. I was just wondering whether we're fools...or CIC is making us fools. According to CIC's website, they're working on applications received on November 4th. But when i looked at the 2012 calendar, November 4th is a sunday, and CIC doesn't receive applications on weekends. And when I read on this forum people who applied on November 20th are already getting AIP's. I just don't get it..

They usually work one or two weeks ahead of what the page says :)

just wanna ask, what are the requirements for spouse open work permit inside canada? I arrived here in Ontario under low skilled program last april 2013 and my husband arrived in PEI this oct. 2013 under high skilled program. Can I apply for a spouse open work permit since he is a high skilled worker? Can we start our application even if he just arrived? thank you so much.

What are jobs?
Good question!
Something I've not had for over a year. It's going to be a shock having to go to work, but mentally long overdue. I'm relieved and apprehensive all at the same time. Lol
