PR cards are not needed for those who have no desire to travel outside Canada other than US by car, even though they will get one in the mail about supposely 70 days after landing.

I've never had an airline ask to see my PR card, but that may just be because I'm a US passport holder, so they never bother to look.

ENF 4 is the document to review for how the CBSA is to evaluate someone's PR status - there's even a protocol for doing it without any documents at all.

I should have been more specific as visa exempt countries can get away with it. Those from visa required countries would be sh*t out of luck if their TRV expired. They would require to apply for travel document to re-enter Canada.

Hi All,

My 6 months is fast approaching come early September. Have any October - onwards applicants ordered their GCMS notes? I am just curious cause I might order my sponsor's to see if there's a hold up and if it's worth it to order them. It probably won't hurt anything to order them.

I will visit my MP soon too in September sometime to see if we can get some progress on our application. Anyone visited their MP's as well?

There are people on here who are already on their 10 th month and haven't gotten AIP yet!...Mine will be 10months in mid September....And nothing either!!!-So relax,you've got some waiting to do still

Yeah, I know tons of people are still waiting, but I think most just call CIC and don't really pursue anything beyond that. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong though. Either way, I am definitely going to be doing anything I can do to see what's going on with my application. Like ordering GCMS notes and talking with my MP. It's worth a shot, no?

Well, if you don't have a work permit before sponsorship and you don't have a SIN, you can't work if you wanted to. You would be required to submit your SIN upon employment. If you have a temporary SIN with expired date, then employer may not employ you until you have a valid one.

There is nothing wrong with inquiring about your file,believe me av'e done just that!!!-my MP contacted cic on my behalf and was told the same thing every one here already knows,they are way behind,if the processing time moves past Nov 16 (that's when they received my app)...to call them,until then they can't tell me anything!!...sad I know,but we've got no choice!!!

You can work "under the table" by cash only employment. However if CIC finds out, they have grounds to refuse your PR. There have been cases where those on study visa got deported for working "under the table" while "studying"

You could appeal however knowingly working illegally, won't give you an excuse.

Beside since you applied inland, you won't have a right to an appeal.

Well it means I don't have to work anymore. I'll sue my consultant firm. Their advise was never to include my place of work because I work cash. I already have a figure in mind. 10 million.
