I feel exactly the same way, we did not expect this process to be such a hustle!!! we even thought about pulling the PR application so I could get study permit and just have a NORMAL life (this is why my hubby went to the MP office). It is really bad that because of this delays and all the restrictions we get from CIC our first year of marriage is really stressful.

From my point of view, it really looks like CIC is doing enough job not to be kick out but that is not necessarily what they are supposed to do. The delay are about for about 4 months that is the duration of the strike... so I really hope I am wrong but I do not have my expectations up (just in case). I truly hope they get to any agreement as soon as possible.

Best wishes! I am glad I could tell you the info I could get :D hope it helps you.

Ohhhh I didn't know that. Thanks a lot , I definitely will google that. Last night tears just poured out of my eyes, I feel so drained with this process. I'll get so excited then its like someone came and pulled the rug from under my feet and after they put it back and then pull it again. But last night I broke down. Its putting a lot of stress of my marriage and also my personal life ....things I wish not to discuss on this medium but I hope things turn around soon. New week , lets see how this one will go.

I am honestly surprised that some people who landed in May have not received their PR card yet.

I wonder if the 69 days for new PR card only apply to business days only. If this is the case, then it won't come til over 3 months time (20 business days/month).

Hi all,

Nice to have you all here. I have one question and do not know how to do.
My landing appointment will be in Sept. 2013.
I have open working permit which will expire in Jan. 2015.
But my visitor visa will expire in the end of this August.
Do I need to extend my visitor visa.

Thanks!!

No, you do not need to extend visitor visa. Your OWP takes precedence over the visitors visa. So your status in Canada is valid under OWP until you land in sept. Extending your visitor visa is a waste of money when you already have OWP

I am not happy that you guys are still waiting for PR card for this long. It can really affect my wife's plan November trip to her home country. We haven't bought any tickets yet but plan to in the next week or so. Waiting for PR card for this long can really throw a wrench in anybody's future travel plans.

Just info.
A person who had her landing interview on June 23rd received her PR card on August 2nd. (Her landing office is Montreal.)
It depends on the local office?? I'm not sure.

@tomorisu

It is possible that it may be local office processing, but I kind of doubt that. So far, Robotic, landed in Etobicoke, and Rusty landed in Saskatoon, both on the same day May 16th and they have not gotten their PR card yet. Not good news to hear when it already way pass the 69 days for new PR cards and all were told to wait 2 months to get their PR card in the mail.

We were told that the PR card processing centre is in Halifax. I don't believe it has anything to do with where you land. I think it like everything else with CIC: it is the luck of the draw. My wife and I have our tickets booked for December so we are not worried yet. Keep strong everyone.

Actual I believe it's in Sydney, NS. So at least they are all process in Nova Scotia. So the flooding in Alberta shouldnt affect the PR card processing however it may affect the mail delivery of the PR card in the flooded areas.

CPC-Sydney processes PR cards. And they are not taking strike action. I think that your landing data was sent from the local office. I heard the following case. This was Outland, though. A person went to the border for landing after getting CoPR. (She applied Outland but she lived in BC). She was waiting for her PR card. After 2 months, she didn't received it. Then, she called CIC. She was told that her information about landing wasn't found. So, she went to the border again and asked about it. She was told that the officer had forgotten to enter her information. She had to wait for more 2 months for PR cards.

Other case which I heard is that CIC sent the PR card to the wrong address.

These might be rare case, though.....just in case, how about confirming your PR card? (Landing information, Address, etc)

I think Canada needs to consult with some countries that have benchmark immigration systems to get an understanding of how they administrate themselves. This business of losing people's documents, coupled with this ridiculous wait isn't a very good look on this country's reputation

Im so angry

Last time I talked to an agent, he told me it said in my file that we would get a decision on Stage 1 August 5. And we have been so nervous and waiting. And now I just talked to an agent to get to know the decision.....and this agent said there is nothing in our file about August 5. WHAT????????

Why did the agent just make up the August 5 decision? I did not misunderstand him.....coz I asked 3 times, just to make sure I didn't. But he was crystal clear. He clearly said that it said so in our file.....and that I could came back after that date, to get the news of the decision they made. And now they say its not stated anywhere in our file about anything regarding Aug 5. I don't get it. Why play these games with us? It's hard enough as it is :'(
