Gosia,

Penna is landing in edmonton. You can find a detailed list of people timelines and their landing offices in the timesheets in my footnote.

I don't have you in my timesheet. If you wish to put on the timesheet, let me know and provide detail info about yourself, timelines, country, where you live, etc and I can add you.

Thanks Screech, you have been really helpful in this matter and I really appreciate the time you took to answer some of my questions. I am still fairly confused, and am not sure what to do next. I guess apply for an LMO through my work if possible and get a new work permit and see where this all takes me.

Hi,

So my post-grad work permit expires in Sept 2013. The maximum time frame they provide is 3 years and after that you have to get an LMO to get a work permit. HOWEVER, if you are applying under spousal you have the option of an open work permit as you're extending your current status.

When I applied in December I also applied for an extension to my work permit.

when you order electronic notes it will most likely take exactly 30 days to receive them. Wether or not it tells you alot will depend on your case. The second notes we received I could tell that we received a medical extension, and if your medical is extended it means everything else is finished an they are just waiting to finalize your case. So I guess in that way it did tell us something. You will be able to see everything that they can see on there computer screen and all the notes the officers make on your file. It wont slow down the process as it is processed in a different office and all they have to do is dump the electronic file and email it to you.

Thanks.. My medicals are due to expire mid August. Hopefully Ill get a good insight to where im at when i order them..

It is honestly so depressing! My application was received Nov 23 and my Spouse's work permit runs out at the end of August... I when we applied there was no way we would have to worry about him losing his job but now that has become something we stress about
5 months for us now... Hopefully they can speed up a little... Taking forever for the oct applicantions... I hope I can get AIP and DM together...

@ aadhalla,

Congrats on getting your landing date. But holy crap, Oct 2 for landing date! That's 5 months after DM. I thought the 3 month wait at Calgary was bad enough.

Timesheets are updated.

Hello guys,

I got an email from CPCV, regarding my work permit, its weird because i haven't heard no one here getting this email before. The email just explain that the work permit will be issue after they start processing my permanent residence application. I haven't gotten AIP so i don't know why did they send this email if it is something everybody know.

They attached this in the email:

This refers to your application for an Open Work Permit received 05 March 2013. No action is
being taken to process your request for the following reasons:

As a Foreign National in Canada you are not eligible to apply for an open work permit until such
time as you receive confirmation that your application for Permanent Residence will be
processed from within Canada. Your application for an open work permit will be considered at
the same time as your application for permanent residence and if the latter is accepted, the
open work permit will be issued to you.

Have anyone gotten this email before? should i be worried or that means they opened my application and they will start working on it?

Don't think there is anything to worry about. I think this is due to you applying for OWP after you sent in your inland application and before receiving your AIP. It is probably just a reminder to make you realize that application won't get process until you receive AIP.

how is the Office for the landing interview determined?
IN our GCMS ntoes it says city of Destination: Calgary but we are now about 1,800km away from Calgary.. and lived here for the past 18 months.
The address on file with CIC is still that of our representative, who is in Calgary.
