Maybe I'm missing something, but can't your wife apply for an Off-Campus Work Permit (OCWP) that is valid during the summer and academic year?

My wife applied on-line for OCWP in March and it took less than 2 weeks to process.

Honestly, I totally forgotten about the OCWP. Maybe I should try that as I believe it should be faster, since its for students to get work experience off-campus (I suppose).
Thanks for ringing back my lost memory haha... I'll look into that. 2 weeks seems like an awesome turnaround time. ;)

Based on what people posted on here when landed, the usual questions are basically a repeat on what you declared on application. Such as "have you been convicted while in canada?", "do you, the sponsor, want to continue with the sponsorship?" Or may be asked how you met to peak their curiousity. Nothing major to worry about. Once you answered the questions, they will stamp the passport and say "welcome to Canada".

Once you get your PR stamped, then you may be directed to go to another counter to apply for SIN.

I may be in the wrong on this but if they ever doubted the sincereness of the marriage, they would have likely asked for an interview in your DM letter before issuing a final decision and have a more in-depth interview then, I would suspect.

thanks! the DM letter doesn't state anything like interview. it just said that the process of my application has been completed and vancouver office will contact me.

Sound like you got the same standard DM letter as mine. If they want an interview it would likely be mentioned in the appointment letter issued by Vancouver.

I just repaired the spreadsheet again!!!!!! I agree with locking the spreasheet. I tried earlier but I am unable to because my email address is not gmail. Wolanila if you know how to lock it feel free. I would like access if possible. As for cleaning it up I send a PM to all of the people who have not updated for a long time. If I get no answer in a week or so I will delete them.

Although they have left us... It is nice to know how many people are ahead of you etc.

Its 3:40pm EST here and no DM or AIP announcment yet. Hope to hear some news today.

Hope to see a landing appointment letter today when I get home from work. Otherwise it would be a 3 day wait til monday's mail.

@Rusty
You predicted my AIP for today or tomorrow. Its six minutes to 4 o'clock. CIC will soon be closed. Lets see what miracle can happen in the next few minutes. My first year wedding anniversary will be on Sunday so an AIP would be a wonderful gift

Jiggy it's only 2PM in Vegreville... so keep thinking positive, although, I thinl they will start processing AIP's in May

Jiggy,

You got til 6pm EST to get any email response from CIC Vegreville. Penna was able to get hers around 6pm just before 4pm vegreville closing time. So you never know.

If not today, it could be tomorrow or even Sunday. My wife has gotten an AIP on a sunday afternoon.

Hello guys,

I have some question about OWP, as I applied at the same time with PR in beginning of December. I understand that I might get it OWP in June (6 months as mentioned on CIC website).

My question is...does everybody who apply PR+OWP get OWP it? Or if you know someone does not get OWP, do you know any idea why CIC didn't give OWP to that person?

I want to work soon coz I've been living in Canada without job since 26 September 2011.

Thank a lot!!!

Deedeedar,

They will not issue an OWP until you get pass 1st stage, get AIP letter first, despite the 6 month wait according to website.

I dont think October folks here will be getting AIP this month again. It's cruel act on CIC part! We need to get legal

Guys relax!!

You should feel lucky you are on the right track to stay here in Canada, I have seen some getting really anxious about getting appt after DM , or getting AIP , some of you are really lucky that took less than a year for DM, mine took exactly year and one month, Im not saying this is fun or things like "enjoy the ride" because it isn't fun at all, but it is what it is right, after all this is "the group of very patient people" . Or you should take a look at the 2010 or 2011 inlands , there are some still waiting for over 2 years .

Sorry if some ppl don't like what I said, but I think you should try to relax this will be over.

Ps. It's Friday yay!!!
