yes you have a current status and you dont have to reapply for a visa when this one expires in may unless you are planning to travel outside the country. Also, u are eligible to apply for a visa during the time you have on your permit. But it is advised that yo shouldnt leave the country while your sponsorship application is processed because if you are refused reentry all this waiting is gone through the window and you will have to reapply from outside Canada

And wut does "application to permanent resident has recieved initial approval"?? Is that only towards my work permit or my overall or status??

@Robotic
It means that you have been successful in being able to get PR as your sponsor is eligible to sponsor you and you are able to be sponsored also. So they are gone to do your medical, security and background checks now which will take about 8 months. The average number of months being reported is 5 months so you will soon be ok. Could you please share your timeline with us. Lets know when you applied and when you got approval (AIP) and your work permit.. Thank you

Hello

why would someones file be transferred to local office in Vancouver although the person lives in Ontario? A member got an email of AOR on March 7 and then on March 8 got another email that the application was sent to the Backlog Reduction Office in Vancouver. Yes it is a spousal sponsorship application. Explain thanks

this is interesting, I never know they hv an office specialising in backlog reduction... I am applying in Vancouver too, just hope my file can be processed asap.

BRO-V is the primary office for H&C applications. Perhaps with the new refugee rules (which make it much harder for people to stick around and apply for H&C) they have extra resources.

@Robotic
Did u get sponsorship approval in October? When did they let u know that u could apply for your work permit?

Hey, does anybody here have experience of the landing interview? I've googled and found out the questions are pretty straight forward but they ask me to bring every document" issued by CIC. I'm not sure if this meanss every letter emailed and posted or jst the visitor records and work permit.

I'm assuming just the actual visitor records and work permit but a little paranoid I don't have every single letter.

QUICK QUESTION: Is it because we applied for PR using a consultant that nobody has answered my previous posts ?? ???

Hey , thats not true.. many people have applied through consultants.. I think as Ecas says that your application was started processing on feb 26. so that means that they have accepted the proof they requested. And you just have to wait till next step thats your AIP..

Hi guys,

I was reviewing the application package I sent in December and now cannot remember if I validated IMM1344E form Application for Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking. Maybe I didn't save the validated version?

Since I have received my AOR end Jan - am I safe to assume that validation of forms / signatures are good to go and no need to resubmit this form?
