Not exactly different. One simply had the permanent residence department stated and a unit number. The other is just case processing and postal code.
Right. I would go with the Permanent Residency Department and the Unit Number one. More detail means less confusion. I remember sending mine to the PR Department one.

Awesome! I am living in Manitoba currently and I hear Saskatchewan is great. I might be heading out that way soon to see a guy about a work permit :p

I also went to school in Tacoma, WA so I love the I-5 Corridor area of WA. :D

Haha it's actually pretty nice. Cold today and yesterday though

But I love the cold so I'm happy! Oh and I get to watch the Jets all the time which is awesome (except last night :( ) As an American who watches hockey, it's strange to be suddenly surrounded by people who actually watch hockey, and know about hockey!

Go CANADA! :D

Terrific! Yay Oregonians! And congrats on applying! What a huge relief it must be, at least it was for us. Where are you in Canada then? Good ol' Portland, lovely city. Strangest city as well :)

I'm living in Sherwood Park, AB (just outside Edmonton, Go Oilers!).

Yeah Portland is an amazing city so beautiful and green, but yes, weirdest people in the country forsure haha

Never been to Sherwood Park but I have a soft spot for the Oilers :) Hope that team can get it together this year!

My wife and I just got our AOR about two weeks ago. Are you on the spreadsheet? If not get a hold of Rusty53 and ask to be put on it. You can see where everyone who applied in 2012 is in the process. Now the long wait for AIP (6 months :( )

Did you file an OWP with your PR App?

Congrats on the AOR! Hopefully AIP comes soon.
I'm on the 2013 inland spreadsheet. I'll check out the 2012 to get a better feel for the timelines.

I'm on a post grad work visa that expires in June, so I got to figure out if that type of work visa is extendible or not. I'm still unclear of that. But I will most likely add an OWP to my file after I get my AOR and go from there. I was told by many people to submit it with PR application and others said wait for my AOR, so I decided to wait.

Did your AOR come in the mail or as an email?

Cool that you can work :)

The AOR actually came in my wife's inbox. She's the sponsor to they typically send the AOR to them. But we got an email. What an awesome surprise to find!

I have a question regarding provincial insurance plan eligibility - in this case, OHIP.

In Ontario I understand once you receive AIP for PR (applicant, I assume??), and waiting at least 90 days after becoming a resident, you are eligible for OHIP coverage.

If you are already established Ontario residency (e.g. driver's license, pay income tax, etc.), must you still wait 90 days after receiving AIP PR or since one has already established residency (nearly 2 years now), can immediately apply for OHIP upon reception of AIP?

thanks

Hey, I just had that conversation with OHIP, they basically say that it's 90 days from being eligible for OHIP. I was in same boat, here since April 2010 and got AIP in October 2012, had to wait 90 days.
