I think Ontario is the only province that makes you wait 3 months from AIP to get your health card.

No, all provinces have this waiting period. I live in QC and here is three months too. The lady who helped asked me when I arrived and I said a year ago, so she looked at my passport and that was the day she entered. I know Canadian citizen born outside Canada who just arrived and went to get her health care card, and they gave her a letter saying she will receive it in 3 months due to the waiting period... lol this is crazy!

Here's my timeline:

November 2010 - received application
December 2010 - started processing of papers
October 2011 - sponsorship approved / applied for open work permit
December 2011 - open work permit received
July 2012 - received confirmation letter saying processing of papers is already completed

Now, I'm still waiting for my local immigration office to contact me so I can book an appointment to pay for the landing fee, they said within 8 weeks from July 4th, hopefully sooner because I just can't wait to see my daughter (she's also included in the application but she's in the Philippines still).

By the way, does anybody know what happens next after I pay the landing fee, do I just wait for my PR card or is there any other more things that has to be done before the visas will be issued?

I was Dm by April 26,2012 then May 9 I landed,after you pay the landing fee(which I did the same day then I got my landing paper after my landing interview,but still waiting for my PR card anytime this week according to the the call centre and to the PR card timeline here in the forum..then my daughter's dependant visa was DM and her address in her e cas,was current home address here in BC then current mailing address in the Philippines,anytime now she will receive her call..but the other Filipina who landed the same day with me,her son got his visa last week of June and he's already here by July 4(because the medical of his son will expired by July 24)

Gusto ko lang naman sana eh malaman kung gaano pa katagal bago maissue visa ng daughter pati na rin yung akin para makapagplano na ng mga dapat gawin. Mahal din ng pamasahe eh. Tapos may baby din ako dito hindi ko man maplano bday at binyag niya kasi hindi ko alam kung kelan ko din makukuha other daughter ko sa pinas.

kumporme,sasabhin pag landing mo within 6 - 8 weeks mo sasabihan nila ang embassy sa Manila..pero ako two months nako nakalanding nung July 9 until now wala pa rin ung visa ng anak ko pero naka DM n ung applications nya sa e cas last Thurs...ung isang kasabay ko sa pag landing 6 weeks pa lang yata nakuha n ng anak nya visa nya.9 weeks ung sa akin pagkatapos kong maglanding dito sa Vancouver saka na DM un sa anak ko..within 2 weeks pagka DM ng e cas ko nakuha ko PR ko..

mag avAil ka ng first time immigrants visa pag sa pinas ka bumili ng tiket at pag off season para sa anak mo..

that's what I did to check my daughter's e cas,I checked it twice a day,wondering if they're going to follow Phils.time or Canada time..lol

I somehow feel CIC is making the process slow again, I called them last week regarding an update on my file which they recieved on 29 august and the lady told me i should get to know something by next month which is 12 months.. this whole process is getting so frustrating

But this forum is really helpful

We received your application for permanent residence on October 11, 2011.

We started processing your application on January 6, 2012.

We transferred your application to the CIC Etobicoke office on January 10, 2012. The CIC Etobicoke office may contact you.

i had an interview on the 13th of june 2012

on the 14th of june 2012 i got aip

16th of june 2012 letter for police clearance from my country

have since sent it in they also asked for 490 for landing fee is it normal that my secound stage takes this long or should i be worried please help me i have since faxed it in to my cic officer he had given me his personal fax number

This one is amazing, I guess you're the luckiest person here then. As other posts, right now CIC is working on end of August 2011 app. Your app. received on October 11, 2011 and you got AIP on June 2012, even though you had an interview, it's still a dream. Congratulations!

i have some cases get stage 2 in a day or week so i just thouth there was some thing wroung with mine thanks for letting me know it is ok

So what's happening is after we all get that confirmation letter, the only sure thing after is we get booked to pay for the landing fee and get our visas. After that we have to wait yet again for we don't know how long for our dependents from our countries to receive their visas?

It's ok here because we have the call center to phone when we need answers to the status of our application but outside Canada, how do we make a followup and really get answers?

I don't know if anyone ever has the same problem as me.
I got AIP in June 7
Schedule for interview in Aug 9
I problem is my wife had an emergency and she went back to her country already. Would it be possible for me to come alone on that day? Is there anything I can do or prepare?
