I would like to share my experience and ask a question.
Here are all my statuses from online service.
1. We received your application for permanent residence on May 21, 2014. (AOR augest 2015)
2. Medical results have been received. (it was in September,2015)
3. Decision made: We sent you a letter on December 23, 2015. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
I also received a CSQ from Quebec which allows me to apply for visa (Dec.18th). I got an open work permit 1 year ago. So I guess I don’t need to use it in future.
Right now I am waiting for my DM letter. According to the processing time on line, it should be 17+10 month. 17 month period is for evaluate my sponsor. 10 month is for final decision. I am on the point of 18 month. Am I already past the 10 month period or I still need to wait 10 month to land? I am a little confusing about the processing time. My question is how long do I need to wait before landing provided I get my PR approved? If it is soon, I want to apply an USA visa after my PR issued.
Second question: about the landing, I heard a way that I don’t need to pass the board instead I can do an interview. I’m in Montreal. It saves time and money for sure. What do you think? It is better that passing the board?
