Good day,

I need advise on what needs to be done to contact CIC. I am currently living outside of Canada. I made my first entry on December 4, 2012 and up to this date I have not recieve my initial PR card. I address my PR card to be sent to a relative's house in Halifax. I checked the website and it states that processing should take about 35-75 days. Counting on my first entry its almost 117 days. I submitted IMM 5476 "Use of a Representative" at the Visa Office that processed my PR application so that my relative can check the status but I have not recieved any responses from them. Moreover, my relative in Canada also called the Service Centre and they told her that they cannot divulge information as there is no representative listed on the file.

I am a bit worried as I dont have any other means of checking the status of my initial PR card. Please advise what needs to be done.

Thanks,

Call CIC and ask what is going on. Sometimes, cards are delivered to wrong addresses (when i received my PR card, I received someone else's card as well with my address mentioned on it. I returned that to CIC). I hope if it was delivered wrong, it might have been returned.

If you intend to enter Canada without PR card, contact CIC for a temporary travel document.

So it is better to call and inquire. If it is lost, you can reapply on the cic website.

The thing is I am currently in Bermuda and plans to permanently reside in Canada later this year. The CIC Call Centre number only accepts calls within Canada.

I have already emailed the Visa Office but have not gotten any response back.

Worried much.

It is better to fax and/or mail your letter. Emails I am not sure how they are treated. Not sure why they wont answer your queries on the phone.

Refer to this link below to obtain a temporary travel document.

You probably can check with local CIC office about it.

Hope this helps.

is there a number to call when you are outside of Canada?

No - unfortunately there isn't.

I was trying to find it out for your but I cant find one unfortunately. Sorry.

I think it would be best to obtain temporary travel document when you plan to come to Canada.
