How do you change a Temporary Resident Visa - there's no such thing as a tourist visa for Canada - into a work permit? If you want to be a tourist, why would you need to work here? Tourists are expected to come with lots of money and leave with less.
It's next to impossible to do this. To apply for a work permit, you not only need a job offer but also need an approved LMIA from the employer. It's very hard to find employers who are willing to go through the LMIA process since it takes 4-6 months to complete this process, it's very expensive for the employer and there is no guarantee of approval. If you come to Canada as a visitor, you should assume it will not be possible to convert your visitor status to a work permit.
It should say CANADA on the top left - feel it lightly with your fingertips as it should be rough to the touch - "the feel of steel" Google the image.
If it is perfectly smooth then you may have a problem. How did you get it?
1. What is the LMIA exemption code for your work?
2. Under which program would your employer be hiring you for LMIA exempt work?
I don't think your job offer in an event management company would be eligible for LMIA exemption. Nonetheless, do ask your employer and let us know the LMIA exemption code + the program under which your employer can hire you.

If you have a job offer from an event management company then your employer needs to apply for an approved LMIA before you will be able to get a work permit.
There are very few situations where you do not need an LMIA to apply for a work permit. One example would be if you were coming as a university professor to teach or complete research in Canada at a university.
You should assume that you will need an approved LMIA to apply for a work permit. This is not something you can apply for or obtain. Your employer has to get it.
