Info on BCIT admission

Hi! I was wondering if anyone can give me some info (tips, things that I should know) about applying for admission to BCIT as an international student. It's not for me, but for my brother.
He just chose the program he wants to apply to and booked his IELTS test. How hard is the admission? He's thinking of hiring an immigration consultant for the study permit, is it worth it?

P.S. in case it matters, the course he wants to do it Software Systems Developer.
