No verification basis - No police verification for passport issue
Pre verification basis - Police verification will be done before passport is issued
Post verification basis - Police verification will be done after passport is issued (Usually in case of Tatkaal applications)

Did you/your younger son get any email when CGI sent the request to India for PV? Is there any way we know the case number sent to Police for PV?

Where would I see the update with "EVENT_DESC" or "STATUS_DESC"? I checked the status on CGI with inspect mode and this is what is shown under TrachStatusForFileNoNew when I clicked on it. Am I supposed to do something more?

Yes, we got email & it mentions file number (same as what is shown on online tracker).

The statusMap is empty for you. Once the application processing starts and more events/steps happen in relation to the passport application, the statusMap will have a StatusId which will contain all the events.

IF before say your application under review then change to under process mean your application put on hold u can contact cgi for further instruction

Let's see if I can actually get the passport, a little skeptical that I dont have to go through the PV.

It could be that my application got processed this fast is because my passport was a little damaged by water.

Update: April 22nd - Passport has been printed.
