Hello Friends,

I am in a process of completing my application package. I want to make the payment by Check or draft. Could you please recommend any good bank where I can get it...

Any help is appreciated
 
try to get DD from SBI where Forex section is there, usually the main branch in a city has it. Also confirm the valididty of the DD.

I just heard than many validity for DD is just for 3 months, Is that true ?
 
I got for 6 months from SBI...
 
I heard from many that ICICI is really good and the best choice
 
Great thank you very much for your suggestion, I do have credit card as well, but for some transactions in India it asks me to provide one time password, I am not sure if it will be same with international transaction, I just don't want to take any risk and opting for DD or MO..

Regarding credit card I would not suggest as many things need to be checked allthrough , like the validity of the card, availabilty of the balance all the time till charging and also the risk of keeping the credit card safe.
 
I talked to SBI today, they are saying the validity of DD will be only 3 months not more .... any other alternative, they suggested me MO, is there anyone who sent MO Kindly help

I am surprised to know they told you its 3 months, I have just checked the DD that was issued to me in september it was clearly mentioned 6 months validity. Not sure on MO.
 
Dear ramana7, I confirmed that with SBI Pune, SBI Jalgaon, they are saying they are using the old stationary on which expiry date is 6 months, all DD's are just valid for 3 months, as per the RBI's new circular they have received.

It will be advisable to personally go to bank and confirm the same again. I don't want to see anyone in trouble just becoz bankers don't know on what they are doing.
