Post Title:

Should I Withdraw and Reapply TRV? Weak Docs + FIFA Mistake - Indian Applicant, Zero Travel History

Post Description:

Applied for TRV on April 4, 2026. Biometrics not done yet (deadline May 6). Processing hasn't started. Trip planned July 19-31 to Toronto for birthday celebration with friends.

What went wrong: Application got submitted prematurely - I thought payment was an intermediate step with consent/final submission still ahead. Got caught off guard and application went through with incomplete docs.

Two problems now:

1. FIFA line in purpose statement:
I wrote "experience the FIFA World Cup 26 fan festival atmosphere" but FIFA in Canada ends July 7. My trip starts July 19. Looks inconsistent. I did select "tourist" not "FIFA spectator." This I am not retrospecting now.

2. Only 3 docs uploaded: National ID, Passport, Bank Statement (6 months). Missing: invitation letter from friends in Toronto, employment letter, salary slips, ITR, past experience letters (8+ yrs IT), property docs, cover letter, etc.

My profile: 30M, single, Indian, North India. Lead Tech BA, 8+ years continuous IT employment. CAD 7,000 shown as funds. Family owns rental property. Zero international travel history. Zero previous refusals.

Option A: Withdraw (citing premature submission), reapply with complete docs + corrected purpose statement.

Option B: Keep application, do biometrics, submit all missing docs via one webform with a cover letter that focuses on birthday/tourism only.

Questions:
  1. Is this application likely refused as-is? (weak docs + FIFA inconsistency + no travel history)
  2. Will the FIFA line be a credibility red flag for a July 19 trip?
  3. Withdraw + reapply clean OR webform additional docs — which is stronger?
  4. Can I reapply immediately without waiting for withdrawal confirmation? Timeline is tight.
  5. Has anyone used "premature/accidental submission" as withdrawal reason successfully?
  6. How much do additional docs help overcome zero travel history for Indian applicants?
Thanks in advance!

1. It will be refused because you are single with litte money, no travel history and only tie to return is a job. Need approved leave. Property must be in your name only.
2. Yes
3. Withdraw and then reapply with stronger purpose to come to Canada and double your cash.

How long is visit. What is your itinerary.

So my visit as mentioned is from July 20 till 31st July for 12 days - I have approved leaves and employment confirmation letter from my company.

It is true that property papers are not in my name but in my father's name.

As for my itinerary - I was going to stay with one of my friends in Toronto. That is where the invitation letter from a citizen of Canada inviting me for a stay.

For the funds - I was told that given the less number of days the amount was sufficient.

I will withdraw the application via webform, but I am scared that it might take another month or two to give me an option to apply again. With that said, what would be your advice to get better chances at this application?

Don't include property papers as they don't show anything. Properties are your father's.

So you are not coming for FIFA but visiting Toronto.

You have very weak funds. You need to show you can afford to visit Canada, and using all funds for visit. Airfare can take up a big chunk.

If you don't want to withdraw (can take weeks) then wait and see if you get a quick response.

Saying your coming to FIFA with no ticket and dates are after the fact are strange.
