India PP Surrender + Entry Visa application simultaneous process

Since you are former India passport holder you should go for entry visa. you get it in 1 week (Toronto) and period is 6 months validity
Tourist visa is for people who are not of Indian origin (OCI not eligible). Scrutiny is more and takes close to a month to process

Hi, Has anyone tried this recently? After applying for Indian passport surrender, if you have applied for entry visa to india, how much time it takes to get it? Has anyone got the visa under these circumstances. I have tickets booked to India almost a month from now and i have surrendered my passport yesterday only. Now going to apply for visa on tuesday. please help so i can get to know if i will be able to finalize my travel plans

Can I just apply for surrender certificate with my citizenship cert ?

I have a new born for whom we are waiting for birth certificate and then apply for Canadian passport for all of us.
