I am in bit of a trouble with My work permit.
For some reason, my Work Permit was issued to me with incorret name. Both the first name and the last name on the permit has my full name repeated on both places.
For example, if my name is Will Smith, with Will being my first name and Smith being my last name. But on the Work Permit, its printed as "Will Smith" for my first name and again "Will Smith" for my last name.
As per CIC website, I was supposed to mail my Work Permit with additional IDs and a completed form to their office at Ottawa. It was sent 6 months back and I havent head anything from them. This kind of paper application cannot be linked to my CIC account as well as per their rules, so it can't be tracked.
There helpline number takes me to Customer Service agents who have no clue or have no tool to even provide me with an update. They often get amazed at the time it is taking to correct such a simple mistake.
So basically, they made a mistake on my Work Permit. As per the process, I sent them my Work Peemit to get it rectified, but they are holding on to my Work permit for 6 and a half months.
Can anyone suggest me any way I can get an update or help push them to rectify my Name.
Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated.
