Hi,

I am about sponsor my spouse, who is in India. On her passport the address is incorrect. However, according to Country specific guide for India (IMM 3904), it doesn't state that they need a photocopy of address from passport.

When is it recommended to have the address changed on her passport? Before starting the sponsorship or after submitting the photocopies as stated in point 4(below), as it will take approximately a month for the correction to take place, so we are thinking of submitting the photocopies as required below, and then having the address corrected on the passport?

IMM 3904 states "Include copies of pages showing:" (doesn't state anything about the page showing the address)

-passport number
-date of issue and expiration
-your photo,
-name and surname (good name),
-date and place of birth

Thank you.

Hi

It doesn't matter what address is in her passport.

Thank you for your response. Wouldn't CIC or Indian Embassy require her passport later? Please advise

Yes, CIC will need her passport but they won't care what address is in it.
