Hi I have a question about income tax.
My spouse came here on a tourist visa in September 2019. We got married in December 2019, we have since submitted a visa extension and submitted our inland application as well. He is currently here on implied status.
I am filing my income taxes and wondering what I am supposed to do regarding him. I changed my status on CRA account to married and will be filing my income tax as married. My husband currently has no SIN and has not worked a day in Canada.
He made $6500 in his home country last year before coming to Canada. Is he considered a resident or non resident, do we claim his income from his home country?
My accountant is confused on what to do, and I am looking on some direction to give her from anybody else who has been in this position.
