Income Tax Filling for Citizenship Application Question

Hello Everyone,

In about 6 months I will meet the criteria to apply for citizenship. Besides the 1,095 days it says that it requires 3 years of tax returns if applicable. I was unemployed during my first year in Canada (2020) so I had no income, therefore I did not have to file in a tax return.

Ideally when I apply I would like to have at least 2 years of tax returns filed (2021 and 2022). Has anyone ever had any issues with this during the application, or heard of any rejections because of it?

IMO you can file a nil return for 2020 even now, it’s okay to have a nil return no issues there
