Does anyone know what you should do if you see online status changed to IN PROCESS? Does it mean that they finished a background check and send you a letter asking for medicals or it just means that they just started to review your documents?
And how about medicals? Do they send email asking for medicals?

Its depend on case by case. If you read previous posts, there are applicants who got visas and landed in Canada but their status are still in process. It may some mean to new applicants who applied on or after ministerial instructions but no sure idea. By CIC website, when application status in "IN PROCESS", what does mean , follow this link.

Mine too is in process changed last Aug 4. Did not receive any letter from CHC London since e cas status changed to in process. But I am hoping like others, in 2-3 weeks, i will receive medicals. But in process under the new rules, means your documents are complete and accurate, and you passed the 67 points assessment stage. They are the mosrt critical stage of PR application.

you typically don't do anything... you sit home (or work,i.e. if you work, ) patiently and wait for the Medicals request till 4 months elapse from the date of receipt of final dox at CHC. after the end of 4 months, send them an e-mail inquiring the status....

"In Process" does not mean anything. My status changed to in process on 25 th July. I have received a letter now to submit IELTS results. I had submitted witten submission which they said is "inconclusive". It is aprinted papaer and column is just ticked. CHC London, FSW1 4121.

Dear spa

There is no hardd nd fast rule of getting any letter after change of status. This stage is waiting one since u may or may nt receive any letter or aor but u will definitly gt sooner or later either medical req directly or any other letter. In process is generally a good sign bt here ur patience is most tested so just chill n pray fr good outcm

Thanks for advise. I'm not in a rush at all. I was just worried that I gave mailing address where is not so safe to receive letters (they just get lost). When I saw in process status I wanted to know whether they email or mail or anything else. Just precaution. I think if you lose this letter you will never know about medical or other request.

Are you sure that if it mentions that the file is In Process that they have checked and made sure that your clear on the 67 points??

I thought it meant that your clear on the ministrial instructions??

my case showed in process on 4 aug stating that my file has be started processing on 30 july and on 6 august i recived regested letter for medicals and passport submission request from new delhi chc

Oh so that means that when it mentions that they have started processing that your clear on the Ministrial Instructins, Points etc and are just waiting for medicals then?

Becuase as soon as i got the In process status, i got a letter from CHC London to submitt an expired PCC from Pakistan, which i did, they mentioned that the rivew is complete and they will make a final decision on Aug 16th..

Hoping that the next letter will be the medicals..

Actually I based it from the experiences of New Delhi Applicants. And thanks to Sharma for the confirmation. I think it is also mentioned in OP6. Mine actually was changed to In process status on August 4, 2009, and it says they started processing it on July 31, 2009. But London office is tooooooooo slow. Until now I got no medical request. And basing it from other London applicants, I still have to wait for 3 weeks more.

Yes aparently when they say that they have started processing, it means that your clear on the MI, points, etc.. A Visa office review means that they have already calculated points etc..

That's good, well after my status changed to in process i got a letter from CHC London asking me to submit a PCC from Pakistan, and that by August 16, they will make a decision to approve, reject or Call for an interview. So i'm just waiting patiently.

London is slow, but the yare taking upto 4 months from processing to send medicals. You have to pass the background checks, and security checks before they send you your medicals.
