Hi guys,
I'm going to do my landing this Friday and I was wondering if we need to immediately get a new SIN already?
Is it best to:
A. do the landing > change SIN > do taxes
B. do the landing > do taxes > change SIN
Concerns:
If option A:
- My biggest concern is that since this SIN will be brand new, my work will only be informed now, and they already issued me my T4. Is the T4 linked to my old SIN?
- Do we file our 2017 tax under the new SIN or the old SIN?
- Will the new SIN will carry over our previous data and tax credits?
If option B
- Is it safe to do that? Like is it legal to continue working while waiting to get a new SIN after landing?
