Important question URGENT :(

My husband and I sent my spousal application on December 14th and got the biometrics fee reminder on January 20th. I was under my visa extension permit and it expired on February 4th and I forgot to extend it again. Should I file a restoration of status or should o just wait until the spousal application is processed?

I'm no expert but I'd think you should file a restoration otherwise you would be risking the spouse status in Canada.
