I'm new at this forum and I must admit it was very helpful to me. I just started gathering all documents and I have one question about the contracts from my employer I need to enclose. I've been working at the same company for the last 3 years and I have at least 20 contracts because some of them were valid for only 1 month, some 3 months and some 6 months. I suppose I need to enclose, notarized and translate all of contracts, right??. Please help

You will have to provide all the contracts and supporting documents for the time period for which you claim points. It's also suggested that you provide documents and contracts from all employers if possible.

High rate of unemployment among university-educated new immigrants in Canada

Canada, 7th October: New immigrants in Canada having university education are likely to get fewer jobs than Canadian-born people with same education level, a recent study indicates.

According to the latest annual report into quality of life in Canada titled-Canada Vital Signs 2010- states that immigrants with professional credentials and having lived in Canada for a period less than five years were having a 4.1 percent higher jobless rate than the non-immigrants in Canada.

Canadians with university education were found to be having 3.4 percent unemployment rate while the rate of joblessness among immigrants in the country was 13.9 percent, the report maintains.

Meanwhile, the overall rate of unemployment among new immigrants was 15 percent as compared to 7.8 percent among Canadian workers.

Canada’s dependency on immigration is increasing due to its reducing work force and the findings are of a great concern for the country, the Community Foundations of Canada, an umbrella organization supporting charities has maintained.

Reasons for these wide differences in the rate of employment among Canadians and immigrants in Canada could be due to delay or denial in recognition of foreign credentials, language problems and insufficient Canadian work experience for newcomers in Canada.

The report findings reveal nearly 36 percent of immigrants in Canada in the age group of 25-54 years are university educated.


And if recognition of foreign credentials of all immigrants in Canada is done, then this would result in addition of around $5 billion in the economy of Canada each year, the CBC (Conference Board of Canada) states.

The provinces of Quebec and Alberta were found to be having largest differences in the rates of joblessness in Canada between immigrants and Canadians. Canadians with university education were having a jobless rate of 2.9 percent in Alberta while immigrants with similar level of education had a jobless rate of 11.5 percent.


Quebec had around 20 percent of the university-educated newcomers without any job.


Out of the total Canadian population, almost 50 percent possess some sort of post-secondary education, the official data for the year 2009 which shows an increase of around 2.0 percentage points from the year 2006.

Congratulations!

The CIO will review your application and if they will send you an AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt) with your application number and next steps if you meet all the requirements (otherwise, they will send you a notice of rejection). Note that they are still working on applications received before June 26, 2010 for now (you'll be able to see the change at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/02b-skilled-fed.asp when that changes). Dear ohcanadiana & other mates.
I have a question regarding photo requirements. The isntruction book says "On the back of one photo of each person, write the name of the person in the photo and his or her height and eye colour"
Now, as my visa office is singapore and according to singapore visa office checklist i have to provide 5 photos. My question is "Do i need to write down my name,hight eye colour in all 5 photos or only 1?"

The phote instructions vary between visa offices (e.g., number of photos required is different) so it's important to read yours carefully. In general terms, though, there should be no problem if you write the information on the back of all photos pressing very lightly (so you can't see it from the front of the picture and don't bend the picture). I would be careful. in trying to send each contract,
to some extent it may defeat the purpose of the years of experience needed
based on the fact that each contract was relatively short.......1 month 3 month

You worked for the same employee over the period,
so its best to get an employment record that would speak more to your
length of employment 3 years and your duties
To list individual contracts, may end up being negative for you......

Its like, I have worked on several projects for my company
I did not list the projects or the contract renewals but rather the length of employment & duties over the period

The letters play a great role in the CIO evaluation
so please take great care

Hey, all.

Today I received my RETURNED application from the CIO (Sydney, NS). The receiving employee's highlights on the document checklist indicate that PCCs are indeed necessary on 1st submission. IMO, this contradicts what is very clearly stated on IMM EG7000 (07-2010), pg 39, under 'Police certificates':

"Note: Do not submit your police certificates to the CIO. If your application is placed into processing, you will be required to submit the police certificates to the Canadian visa office indicated on your application."

I've sent an enquiry to the VO in Mexico City (the one that would process my case, if ever) looking for help. The Mexico VO document checklist does include PCC's, so my take on what happened is that maybe the receiving employee just went through the checklists, found a missing item, and dismissed the whole application.

Soooo, perhaps it may be wise to include everything your VO's checklist specifies, e.g., at least send certified copy of the PCC's, etc.

For now, I am a bit bummed out. But I hope to get back on track soon. Not giving up!

Today the courier company have updated with that they need the alternative add & cotnact no other then above.
My courier company is firstflight.net CONSIGNENET # FF0055739( If u can see the status)
Can any one please help with with any name OF RECEIPENT or alternate contact address.

Lot of effort( 30 days) to get all the documents but GOT STUCK either with CAP or Wrong address..

Please guide ....

hello everybody,
I got married on 4th of September this year. On 7th of September 2010 I and my wife sent full application for immigration to CIO (federal skilled worker). I am a principal applicant. There is no answer from CIO sill. I was told by IOM (International Organization for Migration) specialists that we need not to send the Declaration (see below) to CIO. Were they right? Should I (principal applicant) send in addition to my full application this Declaration to the CIO right now?
